Quiet apartment in the Old Town Overview

Look, when I first walked into this place on Dušní street, I’ll be honest – I was expecting another cramped Prague rental with paper-thin walls and a view of someone’s laundry line. Boy, was I wrong. This apartment actually delivers on that “quiet” promise in its name, which is honestly pretty remarkable when you’re literally in the heart of Old Town. I mean, you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the astronomical clock (and all those crowds), but somehow the thick stone walls of these old buildings just swallow up the street noise.

The location is what really gets me though – you know how most “Old Town” places either stick you right on the tourist strip where it’s chaos 24/7, or they’re technically Old Town but you need a map and hiking boots to find anything? This spot hits that sweet spot. You’re on a quiet residential street that locals actually use, but step out the door and boom – there’s that little bakery on the corner that does incredible koláče (the locals line up there around 8am, just saying), and you can literally see the spires of Týn Church peeking over the rooftops. The apartment itself feels properly Czech – those high ceilings and original details that remind you this building has been here longer than most countries have existed, but updated enough that you’re not wrestling with ancient plumbing or wondering if the heating works.

What really sold me was the morning routine I fell into there. I’d grab coffee from that bakery, walk literally two minutes to the river, and watch the city wake up without fighting through tour groups – because honestly, most tourists don’t venture down Dušní street unless they’re staying there. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there a few days; it’s those little things that add up. The check-in was smooth (none of that “meet me at a café three blocks away” nonsense), the Wi-Fi actually works for video calls, and – this might sound weird but it matters – the shower has proper water pressure. Plus, when you want to dive into the tourist stuff, you’re right there. When you need to escape it and feel like you live in Prague rather than just visiting? You close the door and you’re in this peaceful little bubble where your biggest decision is whether to cook dinner or try that wine bar around the corner that’s packed with locals every night around 7pm.

Very nice apartment. The hosts were most accommodating and allowed an early check in which was very much appreciated after an early flight!

The apartment is very centrally located and well equipped.

    LOCATION, LOCATION AND LOCATION!
Everything were extraodinary. Realy quiet, cleand and warm apartment.

You can go everywhere by walk.

Reccomend everyone! Host was very polite and friendly.

What could be improved: Living room furniture should be changed.

  • Katja from France – 14 March 2025 (9/10)

The flat was very clean, spacious and extremely well located. Despite being very close to many tourist attractions it was quiet (ok, it was Feb, so no idea what it will be like in summer) in the building and in the streets.

What could be improved: The kitchen was clearly not equipped to cook for four people. Not even making pasta was an option, as the pots were too small….

  • Daniela from Bulgaria – 12 March 2025 (10/10)

The location was amazing. We had everything we need there. Everyone loved the atmosphere in the place. On top of that the host was great and managed to make us feel great during out stay in Prague. I would love to be a guest again.

    What could be improved: Nothing.
