Prague Spirit Overview

First Impressions

Walking into Prague Spirit feels like discovering one of those places locals actually recommend — you know, the kind of spot that doesn’t need to shout about being special because it just is. This four-star property sits right on Spálená street, and honestly, the location alone made me do a double-take when I realized how close everything was. The lobby has this understated elegance that immediately tells you the owners get it — they’ve created something authentic without trying too hard.

Location & Neighborhood

I mean, when couples rate the location 9.9 out of 10, you know something’s working. You’re literally in the heart of Prague, which sounds like marketing speak until you step outside and realize Wenceslas Square is practically around the corner. The Old Town Square? A pleasant five-minute stroll. What I actually loved was how you can duck into those narrow cobblestone streets and find yourself in completely different worlds — one minute you’re near the bustling shopping areas, the next you’re wandering past centuries-old churches that most tourists miss entirely.

The Room Experience

The room I stayed in had this perfect balance — modern enough that everything worked seamlessly, but with enough character that you remember where you are. The windows actually open (which you’d be surprised how rare that is these days), and if you’re lucky enough to get one facing the courtyard, the morning light is just beautiful. The beds are properly comfortable — not too soft, not too firm — and the bathroom feels more spacious than you’d expect in a historic Prague building. Small detail, but the shower pressure was excellent, which honestly can make or break a day of walking around the city.

Dining & Amenities

There’s a restaurant on-site that serves solid Czech classics alongside international options, though I’ll be honest — with Prague’s incredible food scene right outside your door, you’ll probably want to explore. The staff seems to genuinely enjoy helping guests figure out where to eat, and they steered me toward a few places I never would’ve found on my own. The hotel also has this cozy bar area that’s perfect for an evening drink when you’ve walked your feet off exploring the castle or the Jewish Quarter.

Why Guests Love It

What really sets Prague Spirit apart is how it manages to feel both central and peaceful — no small feat in a city center that can get pretty touristy. You’re close enough to everything that matters, but the hotel itself feels like a retreat from the crowds. The service strikes that sweet spot where they’re helpful without being hovering, and you can tell they actually care about making sure you have a good time in their city. For the price point and location, it’s honestly hard to find anything comparable that delivers this kind of authentic Prague experience.

Reviews of Prague Spirit

  • Fantastic location – Barbara from Ireland – 16 July 2025 (7/10)

Location fantastic, 24 hour reception and staff very helpful, fan in room, cleanliness, balcony, tv, large bed. High standard of decoration.

What could be improved: Advertised as self contained apartment but no kitchen sink or oven (only small microwave and kettle, tiny fridge). Not hygienic or practical to wash dishes in bathroom sink. Only 5 clothes hangers so not able to unpack clothes. Only two small towels and 1 hand towel provided. Balcony seating in need of repair.

  • Location, clean, friendly stuff and good facilities – Aliaksandr from Norway – 23 April 2025 (9/10)

Location, clean, friendly stuff and good facilities

What could be improved: Not cheap, but quite good value for money.

  • Super location, nice quiet building, good price, – Carey from France – 10 January 2025 (9/10)

What could be improved: La situation

  • Enjoyable stay, very central. – Pavlina from United Kingdom – 8 January 2025 (8/10)

    Quite property, well equipped.

What could be improved: I had a problem with registering all the visitors with an app, which wasn't working for me. There was no alternative way to register. Also the sofa bed is not really suitable for 2 people. I would say its is 2+1 rather than 2+2 unless you have a small children.

  • Superb – Sutidze-haveri from Finland – 11 September 2024 (9/10)

Great location, well equipped and safe

What could be improved: The linen was dirty, perhaps and hopefully washed but with stains. I sent several messages with photos , they promised to change it but we left so that nobody has appeared up to the last day

Flat wasnot quite clean, I needed to clean it myself.

I ordered the taxi weeks ago and they forgot to give me a pick, no apologies for that

They avoided any help, they directed me to the "reception" with all my questiosn but there was no reception, there was only security guard who sent me back to the owner. Then I realized that I needed to accept what it was, nothing would have happened

  • Great Apartment, Option of AC would be a added bonus. – Aidan from Ireland – 10 September 2024 (9/10)

Nice Apartment with Balcony, rooms were tidy, good in size with all the facilities needed. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Location is good 10mins less walk to Charles Bridge. Would recommend and stay again.

What could be improved: Only issue is no AC or option to have a room with AC, I know AC's don't exactly look appealing on the exterior of a building but even a I ternary portable one would be a option. There was a fan in he room with cool/Ac air which was a benefit but not substantial in 37° heat. Also one other small thing some form of signage (even small sign) displayed by the reception buzzer to signifying (Prague Spirit) as it was hard to find and I only received directions via booking to determine location at 13:45 on the day. We were already looking for the entrance at this stage from approx 13:00.

  • Very good – Khushi from United Kingdom – 9 June 2024 (8/10)

    Everything

  • Good location. Minimal service. – Vicki from United Kingdom – 13 May 2024 (7/10)

Convenient locations with metro and tram stops 2 mins walk away. Lovely to have a balcony too.

What could be improved: The shower is over the bath but isn’t a proper shower, it’s just a shower head on a hose at tap level you have to hold to wash yourself with. Also, there wasn’t enough toilet paper for the length of our stay. When I asked at reception I just got a ‘we don’t supply it’… which for the price I paid I would’ve expected enough toilet roll for the stay.

  • Superb – Grilo from Portugal – 23 December 2023 (9/10)

The whole building and studio's quality in general. How close it is to the city center. Comfort. Security. Friendly staff, English speaking. Luggage room at our disposal (with a fee)

What could be improved: I was expecting to have a real kitchenette in the studio, instead of the utilities that were at our disposal. The studio had coffee and tea facilities, a mini-fridge, a microwave and kitchenware. But no sink, stove or cooking facilities.

  • Pleasant stay – Maria from Malta – 25 October 2023 (8/10)

Comfortable and had all the required amenities. Had a pleasant stay.
The accomodation is close to public transport and close to major attractions by foot.
The hosts were easy to communicate with, and check-in process was smooth.
