Prague Marriott Hotel Overview

So I’ve stayed at the Prague Marriott on V Celnici probably four or five times now, and honestly? It’s become my go-to whenever I’m in the city for more than just a quick weekend. The thing that gets you first is the lobby – it’s got this sort of grand but not stuffy vibe, with these massive windows that let in all this light. You know what I mean? It feels expensive without making you feel like you don’t belong there.

The location is actually pretty brilliant, though it took me a couple visits to really appreciate it. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Náměstí Republiky, which means you can hit Wenceslas Square or the Old Town without dealing with trams (though honestly, Prague’s public transport is fantastic). But here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re also super close to some of the best non-touristy restaurants in the city. There’s this little place called Lokál Dlouhááá just around the corner that serves probably the best goulash I’ve had outside my Czech friend’s grandmother’s kitchen. The hotel staff actually told me about it, which says something about how well they know their neighborhood.

The rooms are what you’d expect from a Marriott, but better – I mean, they’ve clearly put some thought into the design. The beds are ridiculously comfortable (I’m talking about that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough), and the bathrooms have these rain showers that’ll make you late for whatever you had planned. Pro tip: ask for a room facing the courtyard if you’re a light sleeper. The street-facing ones can get a bit noisy, especially on weekends when people are walking back from the bars in Old Town. Parking is available but it’s pricey – honestly, just use the metro or walk everywhere. Prague’s city center is totally walkable, and you’ll miss half the beautiful architecture if you’re stuck in a car anyway.

What really sets this place apart, though, is the service. The concierge team actually knows their stuff – not just the obvious tourist spots, but like, where to get the best trdelník (those cinnamon pastry things) or which jazz clubs are worth your time. I remember asking about concert venues once, and the guy at the front desk drew me a little map showing three different routes to get to Palác Akropolis depending on whether I wanted to walk through the Jewish Quarter or along the river. That’s the kind of local knowledge you can’t fake.

The breakfast buffet is solid – nothing revolutionary, but they do this thing with fresh-baked pastries that smell incredible when you walk into the restaurant. Fair warning though: it gets absolutely packed between 8 and 9 AM, especially during summer tourist season. Hit it early or wait until after 9:30 if you want to actually sit down without hovering over someone’s table.

Look, is it the cheapest option in Prague? Definitely not. But if you want that sweet spot between luxury and feeling like you’re actually staying in Prague (not just some international hotel bubble), this is your place. The 8.7 rating makes sense – it’s really well-run, the location is killer, and you’ll sleep better than you have in months.

Excellent location and great value of money. Suitable for families with their specious & connecting rooms. Big lobby with good food choices.

What could be improved: The only thing is missed is SPA. We couldn’t imagine that we are in Prague in a good chain of hotels such as Marriott with no SPA services. We had have to go out to do SPA in other hotel. We wish to have this service in the hotel.
