Prague City Residence Overview

You know what struck me first about Prague City Residence? It’s tucked away on this quiet little street called U Sluncové – honestly, I had to ask my taxi driver to slow down because you could easily miss it. But that’s actually part of its charm. While everyone’s fighting for rooms right in Old Town (and paying through the nose for it), this place sits in a residential neighborhood that feels authentically Prague. I mean, there’s a small grocery store around the corner where locals actually shop, and you’ll hear Czech conversations on the sidewalk instead of tour groups discussing their itineraries.

The building itself has that solid, no-nonsense feel of communist-era architecture – which sounds awful, but it’s surprisingly comforting once you’re inside. The rooms are larger than what you’d get in the touristy center, and honestly, after walking Prague’s cobblestones all day, you’ll appreciate the space to spread out. My room had these big windows that actually opened (revolutionary concept in some hotels), and the morning light was fantastic. The furnishings are simple but well-maintained – think IKEA meets Eastern European practicality. Nothing fancy, but everything works, which is more than I can say for some four-star places I’ve stayed in. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building, and the shower had proper water pressure – small victories that matter when you’re traveling.

What really sells this place is how well-connected it is without the chaos. There’s a tram stop maybe three minutes away that’ll get you to Prague Castle or Wenceslas Square in about fifteen minutes. But here’s the thing locals know – you’re also walking distance to some fantastic neighborhood pubs where a beer costs half what you’d pay near the Astronomical Clock. The staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than going through the motions, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I will say the area gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, which was perfect for me, but if you’re looking to stumble home from late-night bars, you might want something more central. The 8.4 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but for the price point and what it delivers, you’d be hard-pressed to find better value in Prague. Perfect for travelers who want a clean, comfortable base without paying tourist-trap prices.

Hotels in Prague offer guests the perfect blend of Gothic grandeur and modern comfort, with many featuring traditional Czech beer concierge services and medieval architecture to enhance the authentic Central European cultural experience.

Reviews of Prague City Residence

  • Excellent – Helena from Slovenia – 26 July 2025 (9/10)

The apartment is located in a peaceful neighborhood, only 20min to city center by public transport. It was clean and very well maintained. We enjoyed our stay a lot and might return in the future.

What could be improved: You have to pack your own cleaning supplies for washing the dishes and laundry machine as well as some spices and cooking oil but that does not affect my grade for the accommodation.

  • Spacious apartment convenient for transportation options – Mark from Australia – 19 July 2025 (8/10)

The apartment is large and spacious and is in an excellent location for public transport and supermarkets. Getting to the centre of Prague is very easy with a Metro and tram station just 6 minutes walk away. The apartment was spotlessly clean as well.

What could be improved: Two things were really annoying. First, the crucial kitchen supplies of detergent, dish cloth and tea towel were not supplied. There is a dishwasher but no tablets/liquid/powder. Ok, we were able to get the supplies from the supermarket but these supplies are usually supplied for short stay accommodation. The second thing is the very unwelcoming and unhelpful communication with the apartment managers. You only get sent the instructions at 3pm on the day of arrival and they are quite unintelligible. You are sent at least three separate codes in two separate emails and working out what to do with these is an ordeal. We had to help three other families to get into their apartments and there is NO help if you are struggling. Very unwelcoming. There is also a construction site next door but surprisingly it was not as noisy as you might think…

  • Value for money, near town center, secure paid parking but outside very noisy due to train tracks – Akashdeep from Netherlands – 19 July 2025 (9/10)

Spacious, clean, good amenities, great location near to tram stop and City center, secure paid parking

What could be improved: No fans in the room and near to railway track so you can't sleep with windows or balcony door open
