Hotel Description

So I stumbled across Prague Centre Plaza on Fügnerovo Namesti last spring, and honestly, it’s one of those places that grows on you. First impression? Well, it’s not going to blow you away from the outside – it’s got that solid, no-nonsense Eastern European hotel vibe going on. But you know what? Sometimes that’s exactly what you want when you’re more interested in exploring Prague than lounging around your room.

The location is actually pretty clever. Fügnerovo Namesti isn’t one of those touristy squares everyone talks about, which means you’re not paying premium prices for being right on Wenceslas Square, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. I mean, you can walk to Vinohrady in like ten minutes – that’s where the locals actually hang out, with proper Czech pubs that don’t have menus in six languages. The tram connections are solid too; I think it was the 4 or 6 that got me to Old Town in about fifteen minutes. There’s this little Vietnamese place around the corner that does incredible pho (Prague has this whole Vietnamese food scene that nobody tells you about), and honestly, I probably ate there three times during my stay.

The rooms are clean and functional – think IKEA meets Eastern Europe, but in a good way. The beds are actually comfortable, which isn’t always a given with three-star places here. My room faced the square, so mornings were pretty quiet, though you’ll hear the trams if you’re a light sleeper. The Wi-Fi worked fine, the shower had decent pressure, and there’s this quirky thing where they give you these massive European pillows that take some getting used to if you’re American. The staff speaks solid English, and the guy at reception (I think his name was Pavel?) gave me this hand-drawn map showing the best route to avoid tourist crowds when walking to the castle. That kind of local knowledge is worth its weight in gold. The 7.7 rating makes sense – it’s not fancy, but it gets the job done really well. You’re paying for a clean, comfortable base in a city where you should be out exploring anyway, not holed up in your hotel room ordering room service.

Reviews

  • Basic hotel but clean and friendly and central – Candice from United Kingdom – 23 December 2024 (8/10)

Central and the rooms are very clean

What could be improved: There is a sign outside our window that squeaked all night every night – it’s the sign for the hotel. The breakfast could have been a little better but overall it was okay.

  • Superb – Harish from India – 3 November 2024 (9/10)

Perfect functional hotel for a couple. The location is quite convenient too with the metro station just 5 mins walk away. Breakfast is quite decent as well

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Good – Helena from Ireland – 24 August 2024 (7/10)

The staff were friendly, the beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. The hotel was located within walking distance of the metro station.

What could be improved: The choice of food for breakfast was very limited. There were some unexpected extra costs such as a charge for use of air conditioning whilst i would have paid for it anyway, i would prefer it was mentioned up front.

  • Very good – Keti from Georgia – 13 May 2024 (8/10)

It was clean, good location, good wi fi.

What could be improved: Too small room.

  • Great hotel to stay in Prague for great price – Nikoleta from Slovakia – 18 March 2024 (9/10)

This hotel was perfect in regard of locations. Most of the attractions are even in walking distance. The rooms are huge, well equipped and clean. You can even enjoy a beer spa there for extra cost. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

  • Very good – Bohdana from Germany – 3 January 2024 (8/10)

The price was great though we booked just a day before. The buffet had a lot of food, the only it would be great to put the writings what is what. The workers were very helpful. Great that there is a lift

What could be improved: Quite thin walls, easily can hear what happens in other rooms. And hotel is a bit far from the bus station, a big minus when you have heavy luggage.

  • Very good – Delos from Germany – 25 August 2023 (8/10)

Buffet breakfast so good and delicious😊😋😍, just walking distance to Tram and Metrostation.

  • A lovely hotel with breakfast included. – James from United Kingdom – 14 August 2023 (9/10)

    Location

  • Superb – Anna from Ukraine – 6 August 2023 (9/10)

The cleanliness of the room is excellent, the company cleaned the room every day.
The presence of paper napkins in the toilet is very hygienic.
    Clean towels and bed linen.
There is a fridge, kettle and tea.
    Modern interior design.
Good breakfasts (buffet: vegetables, scrambled eggs, cheese, sausage, cakes, tea, coffee).
    Availability of an elevator.
Good location (from the center 15 minutes walk).
    Always available hotel staff.

What could be improved: No air conditioning (opening the windows to the street was noisy because of the cars, it was quite hot).
WiFi is not always good in the room.
An additional city tax must be paid upon check-in (approx. EUR 2 per night).

  • Nice hotel, good for money – Clara from Hong Kong – 5 August 2023 (9/10)

The room is comfortable. Breakfast is good.

What could be improved: You have to pay 4 euros to turn on the air-conditioning for 24 hours. As a frequent traveler around the world, I have never encountered it.
