Prague Central Residence Overview
You know what struck me first about Prague Central Residence? It’s actually on a street most tourists walk right past without noticing – Spalena runs parallel to the main drag, which honestly works in your favor. I mean, you’re literally two minutes from Wenceslas Square, but you don’t get the constant hum of crowds and street performers that can drive you crazy by day three of your trip. The building itself has that classic Prague thing going on where the facade looks centuries old (it probably is), but step inside and they’ve done this really thoughtful renovation that doesn’t feel like they’re trying too hard to be modern.
The rooms are… well, they’re what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, nothing that’ll blow your mind but definitely comfortable. What I actually loved was how quiet it gets at night – apparently being tucked between these older residential buildings creates this little sound buffer. The staff genuinely knows the neighborhood, too, which sounds small but makes a huge difference. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, the guy at the front desk didn’t just point me toward the metro – he told me about the tram that drops you right at the good restaurant strip, and mentioned which direction to walk to avoid the construction mess on Korunní. Those are the details that matter when you’re trying to navigate a city, you know?
Here’s the thing about this place – it sits in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually live, not in some tourist bubble. There’s a little grocery store literally around the corner (the kind where the cashier will help you figure out Czech coins), and honestly, some mornings I’d grab coffee from this tiny place on Národní instead of the hotel breakfast just because walking through the neighborhood felt so normal. The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to be anyone’s “best hotel ever,” but it’s the kind of place where everything just works without drama. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually reaches the corners of the room, and when the elevator was acting up one day, they fixed it by the next morning without making a big production about it. If you want to feel like you’re staying in Prague rather than just visiting it, and you don’t need marble bathrooms or a rooftop pool to feel good about your trip, this place gets it right.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Prague at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak summer season when the city hosts numerous cultural festivals and outdoor concerts.

The property was lovely, getting the keys for it was a nightmare.

Central location. Tram and Metro right next to the property. Secure access. Very spacious rooms that can easily sleep six people.
What could be improved: Furniture needs an overhaul. No washing machine. A bit noisy with trams running during night.Lorenz from Slovakia – 26 August 2023 (8/10)
The location is great, nice walk to the historic centre, metro almost next door, same for tram. The 3 room apartment was very spacious for 6 people, it would be great for 2 families of 4. Expected one toilet, there were 2. Half the mattresses were very comfortable (6/12), enough for us.
What could be improved: Having the check-in desk at another location, requiring 2 taxi rides. A 200 euro deposit seems extreme, guess it’s for party groups rather than a 3 gen family. The tram lines are right outside, but our two bedrooms were on the opposite side of the apartment. If your children like climbing, you will not be able to have the windows open!
