Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The address itself – 133 Bělohorská – puts you in this residential pocket of Prague that most tourists never see, and honestly, that’s half the charm right there. I mean, you’re still close enough to the castle (hence the name) that you can actually walk there without dealing with the tram crowds, but you’re tucked away on a street where locals are buying groceries and walking their dogs like it’s just another Tuesday.
The apartment itself sits on the third floor – and yes, that means stairs, so pack accordingly – but once you’re up there, it actually feels more spacious than a lot of hotel rooms you’d get for the same price. The 4-star rating feels about right; it’s not luxury, but everything works and there’s this lived-in comfort that beats sterile hotel vibes. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Bělohorská isn’t a main thoroughfare, so you’re not dealing with late-night trams or drunk tourists stumbling back from Wenceslas Square. The 7.4 rating seems a bit conservative to me – I think people might dock points expecting hotel-style service, but that’s missing the point entirely.
Here’s the thing about staying in this neighborhood: you’re about a 15-minute walk to Petřin Hill (which, honestly, gives you better castle views than being right at the castle), and there’s this little grocery store two blocks down where the owner speaks perfect English and stocks decent coffee. The walk into Old Town takes maybe 25 minutes if you’re not in a rush, or you can catch the 22 tram pretty easily. I actually preferred walking most days – you pass through these residential areas where you see how Prague really lives, not just the postcard version. Plus, coming back in the evening, you avoid that tourist fatigue that hits when you’re staying right in the thick of things. The check-in was straightforward, though you’ll want to coordinate timing since there’s no front desk situation. But the host was responsive, and honestly, after a day of navigating Prague’s crowds, sliding that key into your own little apartment door feels pretty perfect.

What could be improved: the heater was not working on our first night 🙁 we also had a hard time figuring out how the knobs and locks work but we managed. the property does not have elevator so it’s going to be quite a challenge bringing up your stuffThe flat was a good choice to oversleep and we´re happy we found it according to the location. – Ivana from Slovakia – 20 April 2023 (6/10)
Size of the flat was a nice surprise. Bed was comfortable.
What could be improved: I recognised a smell from a former smoker in the main room (kitchen/living room), I am quite sensitive to such smell, maybe others wouldn´t notice. I think the flat would deserve an easy renovation to avoid these smells, Keys on the main doors could work better. The sofa was a little disgusting in my opinion.Superb – Tatjana from United States – 18 March 2023 (9/10)
