Each one has this bohemian-meets-sophisticated thing going on – think rich fabrics and interesting art pieces, but nothing that screams “we’re trying too hard to be quirky.” I stayed in one overlooking the courtyard (ask for these if you’re a light sleeper, because Soukenická can get a bit lively on weekend nights), and honestly, the space felt more like borrowing a well-traveled friend’s apartment than staying in a hotel. The kitchenettes are actually functional too – I managed to make proper coffee and even picked up some trdelník from the market around the corner to have for breakfast.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how the staff seemed to genuinely know Prague beyond just the obvious tourist spots. He actually drew me a little map to this wine bar in Vinohrady that I never would’ve found otherwise. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to experience a city rather than just photograph it. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s the sort of place that handles all the practical stuff flawlessly (check-in was seamless, housekeeping was thorough but unobtrusive, WiFi actually worked throughout the building) while still feeling personal and unpretentious.
