Honestly, when I first walked up to Perfect Place in the City Center on Na Zbořenci, I wasn’t expecting much from the unassuming entrance – but you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones that don’t scream for attention. This little 3-star gem sits right in the heart of Prague’s New Town, and I mean *right* in the heart of it. You’re literally a 5-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, which sounds touristy but is actually incredibly handy when you want to grab groceries at Tesco or catch the metro without thinking about it.

The thing about this place is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. My room was clean (that crisp sheet smell that tells you housekeeping actually cares), reasonably quiet considering you’re smack in the center of a major European capital, and the shower had proper water pressure – honestly, after staying in some “charming” Prague hotels with trickle showers, this felt luxurious. The staff at check-in were refreshingly straightforward, no fake smiles but genuinely helpful when I asked about parking. Speaking of which – there’s no hotel parking, but there’s a public garage about two blocks away on Štěpánská that’s not too brutal price-wise if you’re driving.

What I really appreciated was how the location lets you experience Prague like you’re not completely clueless. You’re close enough to walk to the castle (it’s a bit of a hike, but doable), yet you’re also near actual Prague life – there’s this fantastic little bakery around the corner where locals grab their morning koláče, and you’ll hear more Czech than English on the street, which feels authentic. The neighborhood gets pretty lively on weekend evenings, so if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs, but it’s not obnoxious party noise, more like the pleasant hum of a city that’s actually lived in. I found myself grabbing coffee at the café downstairs most mornings – nothing fancy, just solid espresso and the kind of no-nonsense service that grows on you. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me; it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but it delivers on what matters: location, cleanliness, and value. For what you pay, especially considering you’re staying in central Prague where hotel prices can get absolutely ridiculous, it’s honestly a smart choice if you plan to spend your days exploring rather than lounging around your room.

  Very thing was great. The kitchen was fully equipped with new equipment. It was good for me and probably better for someone who could take advantage of the modern gizmos. The owner was quick in responses and very helpful.

  Upon my arrival I met with the host and owner, Natalie. A couple of minutes into the introduction of the apartment we discussed the damage fee, which I objected but didn’t refuse.
  She immediately got extremely agitated and sarcastic about that, and as I (even in a calmly manner) pointed out that her behavior was unprofessional she escalated into a full on aggressive tantrum yelling personal insults like “ARE YOU SO POOR?!” and “GO BACK TO DENMARK!”. At no point did I raise my voice or get offensive to her, and therefore this appalling behavior was totally uncalled for. Needles to say, I left the place immediately (and also got kicked out) and found another place to stay. Never in my 45 year old life have I encountered such a disrespectful behavior from a host before.
