Pat & Mat Apartment Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Pat & Mat Apartment? The name made me expect some quirky cartoon-themed place, but honestly, it’s just a really solid, unpretentious spot right in the heart of Prague that happens to nail all the basics perfectly. I mean, when you’re climbing up to that second floor on Na Poříčí, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Náměstí Republiky and all that tourist madness, but somehow it feels tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant stream of tour groups.
The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort that you don’t get in most hotels – I’m talking about actually functional kitchen space (not just a mini-fridge and hopes), decent Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every time someone in the building opens Netflix, and windows that actually open properly for those stuffy Prague summer nights. The 9.2 rating isn’t just fluff either; whoever’s running this place clearly gets that travelers want reliable basics done well rather than fancy touches that don’t work. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward hanging around the lobby situation you get with some Prague accommodations. What really sold me was the location intelligence, though. Na Poříčí might not sound glamorous to first-timers, but locals know it’s where you want to be if you actually want to experience the city without paying tourist prices for everything. There’s this excellent little grocery store just down the street (Tesco, but the good kind), and you’re close enough to Wenceslas Square that you can walk there easily, but far enough away that you won’t hear drunk backpackers singing at 2 AM.
The three-star rating is spot-on – this isn’t trying to be luxury, and that’s exactly why it works so well. I’ve stayed in five-star Prague hotels where the shower barely functioned and the air conditioning was more decorative than practical, but Pat & Mat just delivers on the promise of a clean, comfortable base for exploring the city. The neighborhood gets properly quiet after about 10 PM, which is gold if you’re planning to actually sleep between all that castle-climbing and beer-hall hopping. Honestly, for the price point and location, you’d be hard-pressed to find something better unless you’re willing to venture out to the suburbs or deal with the chaos of staying right in Old Town. It’s one of those places that makes you feel like you stumbled onto a local secret, even though plenty of smart travelers have clearly figured it out already.

Great location, quiet and clean apartment and room and very responsive owner.
What could be improved: The apt is a little too small and there are quite a few keys to access the building, the floor and the apartment, not too big a deal.Exceptional – Cherly from United States – 21 February 2025 (10/10)

Everything has been great for out stay at Duplex Apartment. Mika, the host, is very kind and has accommodated us with nice welcoming. The apartment is very spacious, it has everything you need for a comfortable stay in Prague, it was very clear, well furnished, warm and close to the city center, you can reach the main city's attractions in max 15 minutes by walking.
In addition, it is located within a inner courtyard so it's very quiet, you can sleep very well. The room is very large, the b
ed was soft, we had a good sleep.
Mika is gentle and explained us everything we need, leaving also in the apartment some city guide and dépliant for some tips.
Everything was wonderful, I truly recommend this place and this host 😀A homely apartment in a good neighborhood with a nice, helpful host – Szilvia from Hungary – 5 December 2024 (10/10)

Well situated. At the very center of the city and in the meantime isolated from the noise by a small courtyard. And in that courtyard there is a cosy restaurant
