Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first spotted this place on Opletalova Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the address made it sound a bit bureaucratic, you know? But Palace Apartment by Main Station really surprised me in the best way. The building has this elegant old Prague character that you can’t fake, with those high ceilings and period details that remind you you’re staying in a city with serious history. What I loved right away was how it feels like an actual apartment rather than some sterile hotel room – there’s space to spread out your stuff and actually live a little.
The location is honestly pretty brilliant if you think about it. Yeah, you’re near the main train station, which sounds sketchy until you realize it means you can literally walk to catch trains to anywhere in Europe. I mean, we’re talking maybe three minutes on foot. But here’s the thing most people don’t mention – Opletalova is actually on the good side of the station area, where you get those beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and tree-lined streets. You’re close enough to Wenceslas Square that you can walk there easily (about seven minutes), but far enough away that you don’t get the late-night tourist chaos. The trams run right past the corner too, which became my favorite way to get around the city.
What really won me over was the attention to detail in the apartment itself. The kitchen actually works – I’m talking full-size appliances, proper counter space, the works. There’s something really satisfying about being able to grab fresh bread from the bakery around the corner and make your own coffee in the morning. The bedroom feels genuinely restful, with blackout curtains that actually block out the light (crucial if you’re dealing with jet lag). I’ll be honest, you can hear some street noise during the day, but it’s more of that pleasant European city hum than anything jarring. At night it gets surprisingly quiet. The bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that makes you want to stay in there way too long, and the water pressure is consistently good – small things that matter when you’re staying somewhere for more than a night or two. The whole place just feels thoughtfully put together, like someone actually lives there and cares about the details rather than just checking boxes for amenities.

Really spacious apartment. Two separate bedrooms meant two friends could have our own rooms, and importantly both work in quiet. Great solid WiFi. Air conditioning worked well. Very comfortable beds! Perfect location – a 7 minute walk to Wenceslas Square, 10 minute walk to Old Town and most of the big sights. Very clean. Nicely decorated, though sometimes prioritizing form over function. Host was super helpful – stopping by within an hour to help fix a bad light switch and adjust the hot water.
What could be improved: Minor – adding a soap dish in the shower. Providing some instructions (among other very thorough instructions) for operating the TV.Erin from United States – 20 February 2025 (7/10)
Pretty decor but not very functional. There are also two flights of stairs – no elevator!
What could be improved: No place to hang towels, no shelf in the shower for products, and the stairs were a hassle. The ad showed an elevator which is not correct!Elisabeth from United Kingdom – 9 December 2024 (8/10)
The apartment is spacious and well equipped with lovely high ceilings and big beds. It’s only 10 mins walk from the Old Town and near lots of cafes and restaurants – but is still super quiet and in a secure building. I would stay here again if I came to Prague.
What could be improved: Nothing – it took us a bit of time to get the key etc but that was only because I didn’t read the instructions properly before we arrived!Anthony from Australia – 30 September 2024 (9/10)
The location was good, close to the station and an easy walk to the old town.
The apartment was spacious, with a washing machine, kitchen, 2 bedrooms and quirky bathroom.
What could be improved: It didn't have a clothes dryer and the shower, there wasn't a shelf to put soap, etc.Claire from United Kingdom – 26 May 2024 (9/10)

What could be improved: Slightly further outRebecca from United Kingdom – 12 December 2023 (9/10)
Lovely apartment, spacious and well decorated. Beds were comfy, kitchen was well equipt. Location is very close to the central train station which is great to get to from the airport, most of Prague is walkable so a very good location to get around. Communciation from the host was very good, friendly, resposive and full of useful information. Keys are collected from a key box which is great.
What could be improved: Nothing!Michaela from United Kingdom – 15 September 2023 (9/10)
A last minute booking when flight was cancelled. Very convenient for the train station and walkable into the city centre. Lovely apartment – beds were very comfortable
Frans from Australia – 28 July 2023 (8/10)
The apartment is beautifully decorated, with high ceilings, bold colours, marble highlights and lovely light fittings. You feel like you’re in a design magazine. It is very secure, and an Aston walk to all the main sites. The beds are comfortable, and the apartment is very quiet
What could be improved: Would be great to have just a couple of basic cooking necessities—salt, pepper and oil.
The second bedroom doesn’t have a wardrobe for hanging your clothes.Péter from Hungary – 24 July 2023 (8/10)
What could be improved: The green bump-decoration of the bathroom and bedroom walls collect dust and dirt and hair and cannot be properly cleaned – so this design would be better to be replaced by sthg simple.

This is a modern flat in an old apartment building (100 years plus old) in one of the side streets off the main square. It’s got real charm. The front entrance has old iron gates. Then a front door and a stone staircase with metal balustrades, leads up to your accommodation. With four locked doors between you and the street we could not have felt safer.
There is a traditional Prague bar next door, but it did not generate any major sound for us.
The apartment itself is well maintained, clean and well equipped. It also had some interesting design features.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming. Beds were really comfy. The location was excellent. It’s also an easy walk to everything you could want. The old town, station and Wenceslas Square.
What could be improved: The bath towels could have been bigger.
