OREA Place Seno

Prague, Czech Republic
8 Senovážná, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Prague over the years, and OREA Place Seno honestly caught me off guard – in the best way possible. You know that feeling when you walk into a hotel lobby and immediately think “okay, this is going to be good”? That’s exactly what happened here. The building sits right on Senovážná Street, which I mean, if you know Prague at all, puts you literally two minutes from Wenceslas Square without actually being in the tourist chaos. It’s this perfect sweet spot where you can duck out for dinner at one of those incredible basement restaurants nearby (there’s this Czech place called Lokál that locals actually go to – rare find) and stumble back without navigating cobblestones for twenty minutes.

What really impressed me though was how they’ve managed to nail that balance between feeling authentically Prague-ish without being all kitschy about it. The rooms are… well, they’re actually spacious, which honestly surprised me given how cramped most European city hotels can be. I had this corner room on the fourth floor and could see clear across the rooftops toward the castle – not a full castle view or anything, but you catch glimpses of it between the buildings, especially in the morning light. The beds are properly comfortable too, not just hotel-comfortable but like, you’ll sleep through the night even if you’re one of those people who usually tosses and turns in unfamiliar places. And here’s something I appreciated – the walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing every conversation in the hallway. Prague can get pretty lively at night, but Senovážná is actually one of the quieter streets in New Town, so you’re not dealing with party noise drifting up from the street.

The staff genuinely knows their stuff about the city, which honestly makes such a difference. I asked about getting to this specific vintage shop I’d heard about (it’s tucked away near Vinohrady), and instead of just pointing me toward the nearest metro stop, the guy at reception actually drew me a little map showing the tram route that would drop me basically at the door. Those are the details that stick with you, you know? Breakfast was solid – proper Czech pastries alongside the usual international spread, and the coffee was actually decent, which… let’s be real, that’s not always a given in Central Europe. The whole place just feels like someone put thought into the experience rather than just checking boxes. I mean, it’s got that 9.5 rating for a reason – you don’t hit numbers like that by accident. If you’re planning to spend a few days really exploring Prague rather than just hitting the major tourist spots, this is the kind of place where you’ll actually want to come back and recharge between adventures.
