Honestly, when I first walked up to Washingtonova 9, I wasn’t expecting much from what looked like just another Prague apartment building. But you know what? This little one-bedroom spot actually surprised me in the best way possible. The entrance might be a bit understated, but once you’re inside, it’s clear someone put real thought into making this feel like home rather than just another rental.

The apartment itself is exactly what you’d want for a Prague stay – clean, well-equipped, and positioned where you can actually live like a local for a few days. I mean, Washingtonova street puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square (maybe 10 minutes if you’re not rushing), but far enough from the tourist chaos that you can sleep without drunk groups stumbling past your window at 2 AM. The trams run regularly just a few blocks away, and there’s this great little grocery store around the corner where the staff actually speaks decent English – trust me, that matters when you’re trying to figure out Czech yogurt brands at 8 PM.

What really gets me about this place is the attention to practical details that most short-term rentals completely overlook. The wifi actually works reliably (I was doing video calls without issues), the shower has proper water pressure, and – this might sound silly – but the coffee maker is decent quality, not some plastic thing that makes everything taste like chemicals. The bed’s comfortable too, though the street can get a bit noisy during morning rush hour if you’re a light sleeper. The whole setup feels like someone’s actual apartment rather than a sterile hotel room, which I love, but it also means things aren’t always perfectly pristine – there were a few scuff marks on the walls and the couch has clearly seen some use. Nothing major, just… lived-in, you know?

The neighborhood itself is where this place really shines. You’re walking distance from Náměstí Míru with all those gorgeous art nouveau buildings, and the Vinohrady area has some of Prague’s best restaurants that haven’t been completely overrun by tour groups yet. I found this incredible traditional Czech place called Lokál Dlouhááá about 15 minutes away – definitely worth the walk. Plus, if you’re into that whole work-from-anywhere thing, there are several good cafes nearby where you can set up with your laptop without feeling like you’re taking up space meant for actual tourists.

Look, this isn’t going to wow you with luxury amenities or concierge service – it’s a solid 3-star experience that delivers exactly what it promises. But sometimes that’s perfect, especially in a city like Prague where you’re probably spending most of your time wandering around outside anyway. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me; it’s the kind of place that just works without any drama, and honestly, that’s exactly what I want when I’m trying to explore a new city.

  Layout of the apartment. Very secure way of accessing both the building and the apartment. Enough mod cons if we needed to use them. Plenty of storage. Perfect location for access to public transport, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions. Quiet building.

  1 The staff very friendly when you communicate with them and they try their best to help and answer all your needs
  2 Location, Location, location is the best close to everything in the center.
  3 the apprtment is equipped with all the toiletries along with trash bags rolls.
  
  What could be improved: 1 – very samll rooms
  2 – am not sure about all Europe toilets, they dont have water drain hole in the ground? (not shower area) Because when you take shower or wahsing from the sink the water will stay on the ground and it will take long time to dry.
  3 – you have only 1 trash can in the whole apprtment and it is very samll, it will get full in 2 or 3 bottles of water….also the bathroom does not have a trash can.
  4- if you open the windows at night, the apartment will be full with mosquitos, get ready to ruin your sleep from itching, the apprtment should be equipped with bugs zapper (bugs catcher whatever the name).
  5 – no locks for the rooms doors, or atleast a slider for privacy if you have kids with you.

  Krásný, čistý, skvěle vybavený apartmán, perfektní poloha, skvělá komunikace s majitelem. Na to, že je byt v centru, není v něm slyšet ruch velkoměsta.

  Квартира чиста, світла. Зручне ліжко.
  
  What could be improved: – В квартирі немає кондиціонеру, тому було дуже жарко, було не можливо спати. Якщо відкривати вікна то страшенно голосно з вулиці.
  – Не дивлячись на те, що я заздалегідь провела оплату за early check in і попросила власника підтвердити це, по приїзду двері не відблоковувались і ми мусили дзвонити і вирішувати цю справу з власником ще раз. Що правда, проблема була вирішена доволі швидко.

  What could be improved: Було дуже шумно, оскільки в сусідньому номері відбувається капітальний ремонт з 8 ранку. На звернення з цього приводу власники відповіли, що вони не мають відношення до сусіднього номеру і нічим допомогти не можуть. З їх сторони було лише запропоновано отримати беруші. Хоча в кінці повернули невелику частину грошей.
