Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Old Town Studio? It’s actually tucked away on Klimentská, which is one of those Prague streets that feels authentically local but still puts you right in the thick of things. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but the street itself has this quieter, more residential vibe that most tourists miss entirely.
The place itself is honestly what you’d expect from a solid 4-star spot in Prague – nothing flashy, but they’ve got the essentials down pat. The studio setup works really well if you’re not planning to spend much time indoors (and honestly, why would you in Prague?). What I appreciated was how the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood – they pointed me toward this little café around the corner on Revolucní that I never would’ve found otherwise. The 7.1 rating makes sense to me because, well, it’s not going to blow you away, but it won’t disappoint either. The Wi-Fi is reliable, the shower has decent pressure, and the windows are thick enough that you won’t hear every tram clattering by at 6 AM.
Here’s the thing about staying in this part of Prague – you’re close enough to walk to all the major sites, but you’re also positioned perfectly for exploring some of the less touristy bits. I found myself cutting through the backstreets toward the river most mornings, and there’s something nice about starting your day in a neighborhood where you’ll see locals heading to work instead of just tour groups with matching umbrellas. The nearest metro stop is República, which connects you to everything, and there’s a Tesco nearby if you need to grab snacks or whatever. Parking is pretty much what you’d expect in central Prague (a bit of a nightmare), so I’d honestly recommend just using public transport. One small thing – the elevator is one of those tiny European ones, so if you’ve got massive suitcases, just mentally prepare yourself for some creative maneuvering. But really, for the location and the price point, Old Town Studio does exactly what it says on the tin without any unpleasant surprises.
