Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Old Town Square Apartments? It’s actually *on* Masná Street, not just near it – and if you’ve wandered Prague’s winding medieval lanes, you’ll appreciate that this isn’t some generic “city center” claim. Masná runs right between the Old Town Square and the Jewish Quarter, which means you’re literally steps from the Astronomical Clock (though thankfully far enough that you won’t hear the tourist crowds at all hours). The building itself has that classic Prague thing going on – original stonework that’s been carefully restored without losing its character, and when you walk up to the entrance, there’s this satisfying weight to the wooden door that tells you the place has some history.
The apartments themselves feel genuinely livable, not like those sterile hotel rooms where you’re afraid to touch anything. I mean, they’ve clearly put thought into the details – the kitchen actually has proper knives and a coffee maker that isn’t terrible, and the bathroom fixtures are modern without being aggressively contemporary. What really got me was the windows; they’re these tall, original ones that flood the space with light during Prague’s gorgeous golden hour. You can hear the gentle bustle of people heading to dinner around 7 PM, but it’s never intrusive – more like a pleasant urban soundtrack. The WiFi actually works well (always a gamble in these old buildings), and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with medieval torture devices all night.
Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites don’t tell you – you’re on the perfect street for morning coffee runs to Café Savoy (about a 3-minute walk), and there’s a small grocery store practically next door for when you want to skip restaurant prices for breakfast. The 4-star rating feels right; it’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but everything works properly and the overall experience is solid. That 8.1 rating makes sense too – most people seem genuinely pleased, though I suspect the few complaints probably come from folks expecting full hotel services (there’s no concierge desk or daily housekeeping). Parking is… well, it’s Prague’s Old Town, so forget about driving here. But the tram stop at Národní is maybe a 5-minute walk, and from there you can get anywhere in the city. I’d definitely stay here again, especially during shoulder season when you can really appreciate having a proper kitchen and the space to spread out after long days of wandering Prague’s cobblestone maze.
The concierge service in Prague can arrange exclusive tours of Prague Castle, secure reservations at traditional beer halls, and organize personalized visits to Charles Bridge and the UNESCO World Heritage historic center.

Quinn from United Kingdom – 7 November 2023 (9/10)
The apartment was spacious and very good value for money.
What could be improved: Had to walk far from the reception to get to the apartment. Took around 10 minutes to get there. The deposit of €200 euros is also a lot.Joanne from Australia – 30 March 2025 (8/10)
Beautiful old building.
What could be improved: Shower settings were hard to figure out.Carl from France – 29 March 2025 (9/10)
Outstanding location, surprisingly quiet at night even given the central location, excellent facilities and extremely clean. Overall great value for money.
Nigel from United Kingdom – 28 March 2025 (9/10)
The location was excellent, close to all the sights of the old town
What could be improved: Only negative was the three flights of stairs to the apartment, got used to them by the end of our stayReg from United Kingdom – 28 March 2025 (8/10)
Staff were lovely and helpful. Location right by the Charles bridge was excellent. Only problem was that the taxi ordered through booking.com took us to a reception office that was a 20 minute walk away. This was the address booking.com had and not where the apartment was.
Gilo from Canada – 26 March 2025 (8/10)
Room size was great for the money. Very clean, kitchen was well equipped. Location was great
What could be improved: There was no soap or shampoo in the shower.
There is a coffee pod machine, but no coffee podsFederica from Italy – 23 March 2025 (9/10)
Huge apartment situated at the centre of Prague
What could be improved: Not much. If I really have to say something there was a strange smell coming from the bathroom. Maybe some technical issue, but I’m sure they’ll figure it out and solve it.Danielle from United Kingdom – 15 March 2025 (8/10)
The location was ideal, and the staff were friendly and helpful. Beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. The shower was lovely but the bathrooms could maybe do with a revamp.
What could be improved: If there had been coffee pods, tea or sugar available that would have been ideal as we arrived late and struggled to get anything the night we flew in.Aleksandar from North Macedonia – 14 March 2025 (8/10)
