OLD TOWN SPIRIT Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Old Town Spirit? The name actually makes sense once you’re there. I mean, it’s tucked away on Samcova Street – this narrow little road that most tourists walk right past on their way to the astronomical clock. But honestly, that’s exactly why I ended up loving this place.
The building itself has that weathered Prague charm you can’t fake – you’ll hear the old wooden floors creak a bit when you walk around, and there’s this faint smell of coffee that seems to drift up from the street-level café next door every morning. It’s a proper 3-star spot, so don’t expect marble lobbies or anything fancy, but the rooms are actually bigger than you’d think for Old Town (which, if you’ve been apartment hunting in Prague, you know is saying something). The staff genuinely seems to know the neighborhood – when I asked about getting to Letná Park without dealing with tourist crowds, the guy at reception sketched out this route through Josefov that I never would’ve found on my own.
What really sold me though was the location situation. You’re literally a 4-minute walk from Old Town Square, but because Samcova runs parallel to the main drag, you don’t get the constant noise of those horse carriages clattering by at 7 AM. I stayed there during Easter weekend – probably the busiest time of year – and could actually sleep past sunrise. The tram stop at Náměstí Republiky is close enough that you can easily get anywhere in the city, and there’s this little grocery store around the corner that stays open late (trust me, you’ll need it). Parking is… well, it’s Prague’s Old Town, so good luck with that, but honestly the public transport connections make a car pretty pointless anyway.
The 8.1 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but there’s something refreshingly unpretentious about the whole experience. The WiFi actually works, the shower pressure is decent, and they don’t try to charge you €15 for a bottle of water from the minibar. I mean, the elevator is tiny and takes forever, and sometimes the key cards get moody, but these are the kind of minor quirks that come with staying in a centuries-old building in the heart of Europe. What I really appreciated was how it felt like staying somewhere locals might actually recommend rather than just another hotel that exists purely for tour groups.

Reviews of OLD TOWN SPIRIT
Comfortable Stay in the Heart of Prague – Sandor from Hungary – 13 May 2025 (9/10)
The apartment was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, providing a comfortable base for exploring the city. The location is excellent—just a short walk (10 min) to the Old Town Square and close to public transportation, making it easy to reach various attractions. One important note for future guests: a mobile internet connection is essential for accessing the apartment. The check-in process is self-service, and entry codes are sent messaging apps. the stay was enjoyable, and the apartment met all expectations. I would recommend Old Town Spirit to travelers seeking a convenient and comfortable accommodation option in Prague. If you're arriving by car, you'll need to arrange parking separately, but the host will share with you the details about the possibilities.

The apartment is very spacious, warm and cozy.
What could be improved: You need your mobile phone and internet access to open the door of the building and of the apartment. Otherwise everything is great.Easy access and excellent location – Anne from United Kingdom – 22 January 2025 (8/10)

The location was great.
Even though it was very cold outside, inside was warm and cosy. I love this apartment and I would definitely turn back 😁
What could be improved: There were no slippersLarge and quite space. Near the shops and walking distance from the Old Town. I was highly disappointed with the lack of – Lagou from United Arab Emirates – 21 December 2024 (7/10)
Here’s the revised version:
The place is very spacious. Even if all the beds are occupied, there is plenty of room for everyone’s luggage. The kitchen and the shower room are large, which is great. Although there is only one toilet, it was manageable. Also, the house was very warm in every room.
The location is excellent—close to the old town, the Hop-On Hop-Off red bus stop, as well as metro, bus, and tram connections. There are also supermarkets and various shops nearby. The area is very quiet.
Access is convenient, with just a few steps at the entrance and an elevator available. Note that you need an internet connection to operate the lock, as they send you a link on the day of check-in. It’s straightforward once set up.
Overall, it was a good stay!
What could be improved: Here’s the corrected version:
I noticed just a couple of negative aspects. There is a lamp in the kitchen that doesn’t work, leaving the room with only one central light. The lighting is rather dim, making it difficult to see after. We could only see clearly over the table. Adding an extra lamp in the kitchen would be very beneficial.
It would also be very convenient to have some hooks in the bathroom, toilet, and shower room for the towels.
Lastly, and most importantly (which is why I gave a lower overall rating), my experience with communication was disappointing. When I contacted the accommodation to request an early check-in, I was told to check on the day of arrival. The response was not very polite, but I decided to let it slide.
On the day of check-in, I sent an email but received no reply. Later, when I got the message with the online key over what’s app, I again asked if it was possible to drop off my luggage at the facility earlier or if they could suggest a nearby option (as I noticed some metro stations offer luggage storage). Unfortunately, all my messages were ignored from that point onward.
This lack of communication was very unsettling, as it made me wonder how they would handle a more serious issue if one arose.Overall great and would definitely book again – Lowry from United Kingdom – 20 December 2024 (9/10)
Really good location and spacious room, the bathroom was modern and the shower was great!
What could be improved: Maybe would have liked another towel and pillow eachSuperb – Lorraine from United Kingdom – 16 December 2024 (9/10)
Clean comfortable and excellent location. Spacious flat.
What could be improved: I toilet roll for 4 people for 3 days.Superb – Amy from Ireland – 14 December 2024 (9/10)
Loved the customer service, the location, was really cosy and quiet
What could be improved: There was a blood stain on the door frame to the bathroom, another weird dirt stain under the bed and only one towel each and no bath mats or cleaning products in the kitchen
