Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first climbed up to the third floor of this narrow building on Melantrichova, I wasn’t sure what to expect – but stepping into this apartment, you immediately get why it scores a 9.2. The place has that perfect mix of old Prague character with everything actually working properly, which isn’t always a given in these historic buildings.
What really gets me about this spot is the location. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Old Town, but on one of those quieter side streets that most tourists rush past without noticing. Melantrichova connects you to everything – you can walk to the Astronomical Clock in about two minutes (though honestly, go early morning or late evening unless you enjoy being sardined with tour groups). The Jewish Quarter is right there, Wenceslas Square is a pleasant stroll, and you know what? You’re close enough to everything that you’ll actually walk instead of figuring out the tram system. The building itself has that authentic Prague feel – thick walls, high ceilings, and those old-school European windows that actually keep the street noise down better than you’d think.
The apartment feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel room. It’s got proper living space, not just a bed crammed into a corner, and the kitchen is actually functional if you want to grab groceries from the little markets nearby (there’s a decent Tesco Express on Národní if you need basics). The decor strikes this nice balance – clearly furnished for guests but not in that sterile rental way. You’ll find local touches here and there, and everything feels lived-in rather than staged. The bathroom’s modern enough that you won’t be wrestling with ancient plumbing, which anyone who’s stayed in Prague’s older accommodations will appreciate. One thing to note – it’s a third-floor walkup, so pack light or be prepared for a bit of a haul with heavy luggage. But honestly, that’s pretty standard for this part of the city, and the trade-off is worth it for the neighborhood access. Check-in was straightforward, and the management actually responds when you need something – always a plus when you’re dealing with apartment rentals rather than a front desk. The Wi-Fi works properly (tested it on video calls), the heating keeps up with Prague’s chilly weather, and you’ve got enough space to actually unpack and settle in for a few days. For the price point and that location, it’s pretty much exactly what you want from a Prague base – authentic neighborhood feel without sacrificing comfort.

Great location in the very center of the city. The apartment has everything you need, including even an iron for clothes) Clean and tidy)A separate plus is the large balcony and the view from it.
Near the apartment there is everything you need, shops and one of the best shops selling terdelniks. Two supermarkets are within walking distance.Great location, bring your oxygen tank – Antony from Philippines – 12 July 2025 (8/10)
Great location, apartment was nice size but a little tired
What could be improved: 85 steps from street to door. Fine if your fit and don’t have much luggageIncredible Location – David from Australia – 7 July 2025 (10/10)
We loved our stay in this bright and spacious fully equipped 1 bedroom apartment.
It is in the middle of the old town and a short walk to major landmarks.
5 minutes walk to a Lidl supermarket for cheap groceries, alcohol, toiletries and sunscreen etc
Also nearby is a restaurant/bar called U Dvou kocek which serves excellent local food at a very reasonable price.
The Prague main railway station is a 20 minute walk.
Our host Jaroslav was amazing in helping us with any questions including advising how best to travel to Vienna.
We would definitely stay here again.
What could be improved: It was no problem for us but the apartment is up about 80 steps to the 3rd floor although I think that is reflected in the reasonable cost to stay so central.Perfect location and peaceful atmosphere – Lidija from Serbia – 15 June 2025 (10/10)
The apartment is located right in the city center, just a two-minute walk from the Astronomical Clock, yet it’s in a quiet area. The apartment was spotlessly clean, well-equipped, and very comfortable. The balcony was a real highlight — perfect for enjoying morning coffee or a glass of wine in the evening.
Mr. Jaroslav was always available, ready to answer any questions and make sure everything was going smoothly.
We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this place to anyone visiting the citySuperb – Simone from Australia – 25 May 2025 (9/10)

Great location! Quiet. Clean. Fully supplied with everything we needed. Easy check-in.
Apartment in the old town with an excellent location – Juggle from Israel – 15 January 2025 (9/10)
Excellent location near the old town. It takes 7 minutes to walk to Charles Bridge. Wonderful apartment with everything you need.
What could be improved: Old house, no elevator. It is quite difficult to climb the stairs to the floor. For us this was not critical, but for older people and people with disabilities this may be an obstacle.Excellent value for money – Shlok from United Kingdom – 31 December 2024 (10/10)
This is an awesome property!
The location could not have been better as you are right in the old town and close to everything!
The apartment is excellently equipped with everything you need and the kitchen has all appliances!
In addition, the owner Jaroslav was super kind, helpful and informed us of the check in instructions along with photos so that we get to the location easily!
I would most certainly recommend this place to everyone and you will not regret it at all.
What could be improved: The only issue with the house is that it is on the 3rd floor and has about 86 stairs.
So if you have heavy luggage, then taking it upstairs might be difficult (as was the case with us).
