Old Town Home Prague Overview
First Impressions
Walking up to Old Town Home Prague on Týnská street, you’d honestly think you’re approaching someone’s private residence rather than a hotel — and that’s exactly the charm. This three-star property sits right in the thick of Old Town, literally steps from the Astronomical Clock, but manages to feel like a well-kept secret. I mean, the building itself has that authentic Prague character you see in postcards, except you’re actually staying inside one.
Location Magic
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re basically living in medieval Prague without the tourist chaos right outside your door. Týnská street is this narrow cobblestone lane that connects you to everything important, but it’s quiet enough that you can actually sleep at night. The Astronomical Clock is maybe a two-minute walk, Wenceslas Square is close enough for evening strolls, and honestly, you’ll stumble upon those picture-perfect Prague moments just wandering around the neighborhood. Couples seem to get this location thing figured out pretty quickly — there’s something romantic about having the whole historic center as your backyard.
The Accommodation Experience
The room I stayed in felt more like a Prague apartment than a typical hotel setup. You know what struck me? The attention to local details — wooden beams, traditional Czech furnishings, but with modern touches that actually work. The space was compact but thoughtfully arranged, and the windows opened onto those narrow Old Town streets where you can watch daily Prague life unfold below. It’s not trying to be fancy, just authentically comfortable in that Central European way. The kitchen area is well-equipped for guests who prefer to prepare their own meals.
Practical Perks
One thing that surprised me — they’ve got private parking available, which is honestly gold in this part of Prague. Most places in Old Town make you figure out the whole parking puzzle yourself, so having that option takes away a major headache. The staff actually knows the neighborhood inside and out, too. They’ll point you toward the local spots that aren’t overrun with tour groups, which makes a real difference when you want to experience Prague like someone who lives there. The restaurant recommendations from the team are always spot-on.
Why Guests Love It
Look, this isn’t the kind of place with a fancy lobby or a spa — it’s better than that. Old Town Home Prague gives you that authentic Prague experience without making you sacrifice comfort or location. You’re sleeping in the heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful cities, but you’re doing it in a way that feels genuine rather than touristy. The combination of being right there in the action while still having a peaceful retreat to come back to — that’s what keeps people coming back and rating this place so highly. Guests consistently praise the welcoming atmosphere and attention to detail throughout their stay.

Reviews of Old Town Home Prague

Everything was great about the stay. Be mindful of the layout as you need to walk through another bedroom to get to kitchen and bathroom. Apart from that, all was great. Ample cooking facilities. Responded quickly to requests and super friendly. Already heated once we walked in, warm and comfortable bedding.

The host, Pavel, was always very precise and friendly, messaging us all of the useful info in advance. He was always available to help and was always friendly in trying to accommodate us, even if we had some hard requests.
The house was beautiful. You cannot find a house with a better location than this. Literally a 1 minute walk away from the astronomical clock.
And it wasn’t just the location. The house was amazing. Even better than in the pictures. We were 2, but 4 people would stay more than comfortably in the apartment. It was clean, it had WiFi, a nice kitchen, and all the necessary amenities.
If you plan to go to Prague, absolutely book this apartment. Super recommended.
What could be improved: Nothing. It was all amazing. Literally can’t find something to complain about even if I try to look for it 🙂Nick from Belgium – 17 February 2025 (9/10)

The apartment is very beautiful. The kitchen, living room, and the bedroom have a very big window that facing outside and was very beautiful during our stay in the winter and snowing day.
The location is perfect. Quiet but in the middle of everything. Very close to the church of our lady.

Good morning. We had a very good stay at Oldtown Home Prague. The host was very attentive to us. The apartment was very nice and cozy. The beds were comfortable. In the kitchen area, drinks such as water or beer were included. The price for them was affordable. Everything in general was very good, we enjoyed our stay very much. I will come back without thinking twice. Good stay and very central location.

The apartment was extremely close to the main square and close to everything. It was very well appointed with all the items you needed for a comfortable stay. Pavel was an excellent host who arranged transfers from the train station and to the airport. He was very helpful with all our needs. Loved that the apartment had a washing machine, useful when you have been travelling for a while.
Jinyi from Singapore – 27 August 2024 (9/10)
The owner was kind, and the building was cozy, beautifully designed, and perfectly located. Pavel provided us with detailed check-in instructions and gave us great recommendations throughout our stay. We will definitely return to this place the next time we visit Prague.
