Old Town Boutique Apartments Overview
You know what struck me first about Old Town Boutique Apartments? It’s literally on Tyn Street – and I mean *literally* – you can practically reach out and touch the Gothic spires of Tyn Church from some of the windows. The location is honestly ridiculous in the best way possible. I’ve stayed in a lot of places claiming to be “in the heart” of Prague’s Old Town, but this one actually delivers. You’re about thirty seconds from the Astronomical Clock (which, fair warning, gets absolutely mobbed every hour when it does its little show), but somehow the building itself feels tucked away from the main tourist chaos.
The apartments themselves have this really nice balance – they’ve kept some of the original character (think exposed beams and those thick stone walls that make you remember you’re in a 14th-century building) but updated everything that actually matters. The kitchens are proper functional, not just decorative, which honestly saved me a fortune since eating out in that square every meal would’ve bankrupted me. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the building – I know that sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many historic buildings in Prague struggle with that. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, despite being so central. Those thick medieval walls do their job, and the courtyard-facing rooms are especially peaceful. Though honestly, even the street-facing ones aren’t bad because Tyn Street isn’t a main thoroughfare – it’s more of a charming cobblestone lane that locals use as a shortcut.
The staff really knows their stuff about the neighborhood, too. When I mentioned wanting to find a good traditional Czech restaurant away from the tourist traps, they didn’t just point me toward the nearest place – they actually drew me a little map to this incredible spot about ten minutes’ walk away where locals go. That’s the kind of insider knowledge you want. Check-in was smooth (they’ll meet you at the building since there’s no traditional lobby), and they’re pretty flexible with luggage storage if you arrive early. I mean, parking is basically impossible right there – this is medieval Prague we’re talking about – but they’ll give you clear directions to nearby garages. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’re there. It’s not trying to be a flashy luxury hotel, but everything works exactly as it should, the location is unbeatable, and you genuinely feel like you’re living in Prague rather than just visiting it. If you want to wake up to church bells instead of traffic and walk to everything worth seeing, this is your spot.

Comfortable central apartment ideal for the city break we were on.
What could be improved: Had issues with the WiFi which due to the weekend took time to resolve. I suspect this was unusual and staff did their best to assist, but dropped the rating one point because of this.Marta from Australia – 4 March 2025 (10/10)
