Old Town Apartments Tyn Overview

First Impressions

Walking down the narrow cobblestone street of Týnská ulička, you’d almost miss Old Town Apartments Tyn if you weren’t looking for it — and honestly, that’s part of its charm. This four-star property sits right in the medieval heart of Prague, tucked away from the tourist chaos but literally steps from everything you came to see. I mean, you’re so close to the famous Týn Church that you can practically touch those Gothic spires from some windows. The building itself has that authentic Prague feel — old stone, weathered wood, the kind of place that’s been sheltering travelers for centuries.

Location Magic

Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Old Town Square’s backyard without dealing with the constant crowds and street performers right outside your door. The astronomical clock is a two-minute walk, but when you want to escape the madness, you just slip back into your quiet little street. Couples absolutely get this (they’ve rated the location 9.9, which honestly doesn’t surprise me), because there’s something romantic about having your own secret corner of Prague’s most famous neighborhood. You know what’s really convenient? There’s a small grocery store just around the corner, and some excellent traditional Czech pubs that most tourists never find.

The Apartment Experience

These aren’t your typical hotel rooms — each apartment feels like staying in a local’s home, if that local happened to have impeccable taste in restoration. The kitchen setup is actually functional (I’ve stayed in places where they give you a hotplate and call it a day), with proper appliances and enough space to prepare a real meal. The beds deserve a mention too — I’m usually skeptical when places boast about comfort, but after walking Prague’s cobblestones all day, sinking into one of these beds was genuinely heavenly. The mix of historical architecture with modern amenities works surprisingly well, though you’ll want to pack light since medieval buildings weren’t designed with rolling suitcases in mind.

Practical Considerations

Let’s talk about the reality of staying here — parking in Old Town is basically impossible, so if you’re driving, plan accordingly (there are garages nearby, but they’re not cheap). The staff is refreshingly helpful without being overly formal, and they actually know the neighborhood well enough to give you real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist spots. The apartments are well-soundproofed considering the age of the building, though you might catch some late-night revelry from the square on weekends — honestly, it just adds to the atmosphere.

Why Guests Love It

That 9.8 rating isn’t just numbers — it reflects something special about this place. You’re getting the authentic Prague experience without sacrificing comfort, staying in a building that’s genuinely part of the city’s history while having all the modern conveniences you need. The location score of 10.0 tells the whole story — you simply cannot get more central than this without camping in the square itself. It’s the kind of place where you’ll find yourself taking a different route back each evening, discovering new corners of the old city, then settling into your own little Prague sanctuary.

Reviews of Old Town Apartments Tyn

  • Amazing Place! – Karen from Malaysia – 22 July 2025 (10/10)

We felt so at home and the property has everything we needed for 4 nights.
The location is amazing! Literally round the corner from the Astronomical Clock.
Marcella us a Super Host! She is very responsive and was always in communication, ensuring we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We loved how she even arranged for us to be picked up on arrival at the station and when she met us on checkout, even sent us to the bus station even though she didn’t have to.

What could be improved: The place and furnishing are slightly dated but well taken care of, clean and in good condition.

  • Exceptional – Leander from Germany – 11 May 2025 (10/10)

Really nice, clean, well-equipped flat in the heart of Prague. Marcela is super friendly and helpful, which made our stay even better. Highly recommend!

  • Spacious apartment near the Old Town Square – Logan from France – 28 March 2025 (10/10)

The hosts are adorable. One of the warmest checkin and checkout that I’ve done. They are also very reactive on WhatsApp and they are on time.
The apartment is very close to the Old Town Square, so it was so convenient.
The apartment is big and well equipped (with smart tv, iron, hairdryer, umbrellas, slippers, washing machine etc…).
We were able to do early checkin and late checkout (probably because it was off-season) which was a big plus for us!

What could be improved: Nothing, it was perfect 🙂
    Book it if it’s available!

  • Central to Market Square and a comfortable place. – World_explorer from Australia – 21 January 2025 (10/10)

This is an absolutely wonderful property and a great host. Everything was very clean, and the property had everything from AC to Washing machine and dryer, full kitchen and lift to get you and your luggage without any stairs. The host had every minute thing covered as well (like umbrellas, shoe shine, extra blankets, locker, washing powder, coffee, beer, milk, etc.). The host took the time to help us plan our visit, inform about the places we could eat and how to get around. Because of this experience, Prague became so memorable for us. The location is really great. You are literally at the main square (20 meters from it) and everything is so walkable from this location. One can stay in this property for howsoever long period without any compromise. We loved our stay. Can't recommend this more.

What could be improved: Nothing in this place is to dislike. Just remember that there are no views to the market square.

  • A perfect experience. Would come again – Hjbg1 from United States – 3 January 2025 (10/10)

Excellent location, very central (Old Town Square) but quiet.

What could be improved: A bit on the pricey side

  • Clean well supplied and well situated – Barry from Australia – 13 November 2024 (9/10)

Very well located in the old town, only minutes walk from the square

What could be improved: The stairs to the bedroom are quite steep

  • Exceptional – Keith from United States – 7 October 2024 (10/10)

Wonderful location near Tyn Cathedral. Very cute apartment with a full kitchen and laundry. Marcela was a wonderful host who gave us plenty of advice on making the best of our stay in Prague. 11 out of 10.

  • Exceptional – Kati from Australia – 22 August 2024 (10/10)

Ideal location and friendly host. Extras made it feel like home.

  • We had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the property very much. – Randy from United States – 26 June 2024 (10/10)

    Great location. Wonderful host.

What could be improved: Pitched ceiling hindered movement in the bedroom & bathroom areas slightly.

  • Marcela was an incredible guest, she even provided us a list of things to do and even recommended us which restaurants s – Bernardo from United States – 30 May 2024 (10/10)

    In the heart of town.
