Old Royal Post Boutique Hotel & Premium Suites Overview

You know those places where you walk in and immediately think “okay, this is going to be good”? That’s exactly what happened when I first stepped into the Old Royal Post on Maltézské Náměstí. I mean, the location alone – you’re literally on one of Prague’s most gorgeous baroque squares, the kind of spot where locals still walk their dogs in the morning and tourists haven’t completely taken over yet. It’s in Lesser Town, which honestly feels like Prague’s best-kept secret even though it’s right across from the castle.

The building itself has this incredible history as an actual royal post office, and they’ve done something really smart with the renovation. Instead of going full museum-piece formal, they’ve kept the historical bones but made everything feel lived-in and comfortable. The rooms – especially if you spring for one of the premium suites – have these massive windows that look out onto the square or toward Prague Castle. I stayed during late spring and would just sit there in the morning with coffee, watching the light hit the castle walls. The beds are seriously comfortable too, which matters more than people admit when you’re doing the full Prague walking tour thing.

What really sets this place apart though is how the staff actually knows the neighborhood. When I asked about dinner recommendations, the concierge didn’t just hand me a tourist map – he told me about this tiny wine bar three streets over that locals frequent, and warned me that the good restaurants on Kampa Island get slammed after 7 PM but are perfect for a late lunch. That’s the kind of intel you want. The breakfast situation is solid without being over-the-top, and honestly, the whole vibe just feels right. You’re close enough to walk to Charles Bridge in about eight minutes, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you can actually sleep at night. Plus, if you’re driving – which I wouldn’t necessarily recommend in Prague – they can sort out parking, though you’ll want to ask about that when you book. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s one of those places that gets the details right without trying too hard to impress you.

Apartments in Prague provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Czech culinary traditions.

    ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Old Royal Post Hotel by TKC – A Fantastic First Stay!

This was my first time staying here, and I must say—what an amazing experience! Easy check-in, easy check-out, everything smooth and well-organized. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable.

The location is fantastic, and the place is perfect for remote work—quiet, comfortable, and well-equipped. Plus, the cleanliness and attention to detail were truly impressive.

A huge thank you for the great customer service! I’ll definitely be back. 👌

Lovely central hotel with everything you need. The only small point was we booked 3 deluxe rooms. 2 were as the photos. Room 1 however a little smaller with windows on the cafe courtyard. Maybe this one should be a cheaper room. Plus heard our neighbours above loudly laughing and scraping furniture every morning before 8am.

  • Katerina from Greece – 24 March 2025 (10/10)

The hotel was excellent! Friendly staff and great location. They don't offer breakfast but there's a lovely café downstairs where we had delicious breakfast (for around 50 euros/4 persons)

  • Michael from Denmark – 23 March 2025 (9/10)

Beautiful hotel with really lovely rooms and service. Also very quiet place despite the fact that it’s close to the center of town.

What could be improved: Everything was great. But I we would have liked some blackout curtains as it got very bright early in the morning, which woke us up.

  • Tomas from Czech Republic – 22 March 2025 (10/10)

    Great rooms and locations.

  • Dulce from United States – 20 March 2025 (10/10)

    Spacious and great value.

What could be improved: Check out at 10 am. Very early. But they take care of your luggage in the lobby while you go out so that helps.
