Smíchov district has this laid-back energy during the day, but it connects seamlessly to the city center – the metro will get you to Wenceslas Square in maybe fifteen minutes. Plus, if you’re into that whole “authentic local experience” thing (without it being forced), there are some solid pubs and restaurants within walking distance where you won’t pay tourist prices. The 8.6 rating makes sense to me because it delivers on the basics really well without any major hiccups, though it’s not going to blow your mind with fancy amenities or historic charm. It’s more like that reliable friend who always shows up on time and never lets you down – sometimes that’s worth more than flashy extras that don’t work properly. If you’re someone who wants a comfortable base for exploring Prague without the premium prices of the castle district or the party noise of the old center, this place actually gets it right.
