I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but somehow the street itself feels quieter than you’d expect for being so central.

The whole place has this modern edge that actually works in Prague, which honestly surprised me. I’ve seen too many hotels try to go contemporary in historic European cities and just end up looking out of place, but NYX gets it right. The lobby’s got these dark, moody colors and interesting lighting that feels more like a boutique spot than your typical chain hotel. Check-in was smooth – the staff actually seemed to know the neighborhood when I asked about dinner recommendations, not just the tourist traps. They pointed me toward Lokál on Národní, which turned out to be exactly what I was looking for.

The rooms are where this place really shines though. Mine faced the courtyard (ask for this if you’re a light sleeper – Panska can get a bit noisy with trams early in the morning), and everything felt thoughtfully designed. The bed was genuinely comfortable, not just hotel-marketing comfortable, and the bathroom had one of those rainfall showers that actually has decent pressure. Little touches matter too – there were enough outlets by the bed, the AC worked without sounding like a jet engine, and the blackout curtains actually blocked light. I stayed during a busy conference week in September, and while the hotel was clearly full, it never felt chaotic or overcrowded.

Location-wise, you’re spoiled here. Můstek metro station is maybe two minutes away, so getting anywhere in Prague is easy. But honestly, you’ll probably end up walking most places because everything’s so close. The Municipal House is right there if you want to catch a concert, and you can wander down to the river or up to the castle without breaking a sweat. I loved being able to duck back to the hotel in the afternoon to recharge before dinner – something you can’t always do when you’re staying further out.

The 8.7 rating makes sense to me. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but it nails the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The WiFi worked everywhere, the elevators were fast, and room service came up hot when I was too tired to venture out one night. Staff seemed genuinely helpful rather than just going through the motions – they kept maps behind the desk that were actually useful, not just the glossy tourist board ones.

If you’re looking for old-world Prague charm with crystal chandeliers and baroque everything, this isn’t your spot. But if you want a solid, well-run hotel that lets you experience the city without any friction, NYX delivers. It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation, especially for the location and that rare combination of style and substance.
