There’s a fantastic Vietnamese place called Pho Vietnam just around the corner that locals queue up for, and the morning bakery smell from the pekárna down Ječná street will wake you up better than any hotel coffee. The rooms themselves feel thoughtfully designed rather than corporate-designed, if that makes sense. I mean, someone clearly spent time thinking about how people actually live in a space for a few days. The soundproofing is surprisingly good too – important when you’re on a busy Prague square, though honestly, I. P. Pavlova isn’t as chaotic as Wenceslas Square anyway.

What really sold me on this place was the staff’s approach to hospitality. Check-in felt like a conversation rather than a transaction, and when I mentioned wanting to find a good spot for dinner away from tourist traps, the front desk guy (I think his name was Pavel?) actually drew me a little map to Vinohrady and circled three places his girlfriend recommended. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in Czech crowns. The 9.5 rating makes complete sense once you spend a night here – it’s that rare combination of genuine comfort, smart location, and people who actually care about your experience. You’ll pay a bit more than those budget places near the train station, but you’ll sleep better, eat better nearby, and probably end up with stories about Prague that go beyond the castle and the bridge.
