You know what struck me first about NH Prague City? It’s actually in a spot where you feel like you’re staying in a real Prague neighborhood, not some tourist bubble. The hotel sits on Mozartova street, which honestly sounds way fancier than it is – it’s basically this quiet residential area that’s surprisingly well-connected to everything you actually want to see.

I mean, you’re looking at about a 15-minute tram ride to get into the heart of Old Town, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize: that’s actually perfect. You get to wake up without hearing drunk bachelor parties stumbling around at 3am (trust me on this one), and the tram connections are ridiculously easy once you figure out the system. There’s this little grocery store literally two minutes from the hotel entrance where locals actually shop – you’ll spot it by the older Czech ladies with their wheeled shopping bags queuing up for fresh bread in the mornings.

The hotel itself feels properly four-star without trying too hard to impress you. Check-in was smooth, no weird hidden fees or awkward upselling attempts. My room had this clean, minimalist thing going on – not Instagram-worthy necessarily, but comfortable in that northern European way where everything just works. The bathroom was spacious enough that I didn’t knock my elbow on the wall every time I brushed my teeth (small victories, right?). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night; you might hear the occasional tram in the distance, but it’s more of a gentle reminder that you’re in a living city rather than actual noise.

The breakfast situation deserves a mention because, honestly, hotel breakfasts in this price range can be pretty hit-or-miss. Here they’ve got this solid spread with actual Czech pastries alongside the usual international stuff. I got into the habit of grabbing one of their local cheese selections and some fresh bread – way better than whatever overpriced sandwich you’ll find near the tourist sites later. The coffee’s decent too, though if you’re one of those specialty coffee people, there’s this little roastery about a ten-minute walk away that the front desk guy mentioned (and he was absolutely right about it).

Parking’s available if you’re driving, which in Prague is basically a small miracle. Most people don’t need a car here anyway – the public transport really is that good – but it’s nice knowing the option exists without having to hunt around the neighborhood.

Look, NH Prague City isn’t going to be the highlight story of your Prague trip, and that’s exactly why I’d recommend it. It’s the kind of place that handles all the practical stuff so well that you forget you’re in a hotel. You’ll sleep properly, start your day without stress, and actually save some money compared to staying right in the center. Plus, you’ll get tiny glimpses into how regular Prague residents live, which honestly makes the whole experience feel more authentic than staying where every other tourist ends up.

  Great location, direct access to shopping and a tram hub. Very good base to explore Prague from. Lively outside, but quiet inside. Loved the mattress, very nice and firm. The breakfast choices are extensive, you'll definitely find your favourites.
