NH Collection Prague Carlo IV Overview
You know what struck me first about the NH Collection Prague Carlo IV? It’s that moment when you walk through the doors and realize this place actually gets it right – which, honestly, isn’t something I can say about every five-star hotel I’ve stayed at. The lobby has this understated elegance that feels authentically Prague rather than generic luxury hotel. I mean, you’re right on Senovazne Namesti, which puts you in this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to Wenceslas Square that you can walk there in five minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos at all hours.
The staff here – and I’m usually pretty cynical about hotel service – actually seem to know Prague beyond the basic tourist spots. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, the concierge didn’t just hand me a map; he told me which tram to catch and mentioned this little wine bar two blocks from where I was headed that locals actually go to. The rooms themselves have this modern Czech design thing going on that doesn’t feel forced or theme-parky. My room faced the square, and honestly, the soundproofing is impressive because Prague can get lively, especially on weekends. The bed was one of those situations where you actually sleep better than at home (you know how rare that is), and the bathroom had this rainfall shower that made morning wake-ups less painful than usual.
What really sells me on this place is the location intelligence, if that makes sense. You’re a ten-minute walk to the State Opera, fifteen minutes to the Old Town if you cut through the right streets, and there’s this fantastic coffee place called Café Savoy just around the corner that the hotel recommended – turns out it’s where half the city goes for proper coffee, not just tourists. The breakfast was solid without being over-the-top, and they had actual Czech pastries alongside the usual international spread. Parking can be tricky in this part of Prague, but they have a garage situation figured out, which honestly saved me a lot of stress. I stayed here during shoulder season in October, and the service felt attentive without being hovering – you get the sense they maintain those standards year-round. The 8.8 rating makes complete sense when you add it all up; it’s not trying to be the flashiest hotel in Prague, but it’s definitely one where everything just works the way it should.
Visitors often choose Prague apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Bohemian capital.

I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a comfortable and welcoming stay. And, in particular, I would like to give a special shoutout to YOSEP for his outstanding service. He truly embodies the spirit of hospitality and makes a significant difference in the guest experience.

The building itself was incredible, lovely friendly and super helpful hotel staff. Unbelievable breakfast perhaps up there with the best we’ve had at a hotel. We were upgraded to a deluxe room which was a great bonus.

Upon arriving in Prague, the hotel is brightly lit and welcoming, a mere few steps away from the main train station. Once you walk in, you're greeted kindly in a lobby that, trust me, truly stands as a 5-star hotel! The staff we're extremely welcoming, kind and eager to help. Breakfast was the best buffet I've ever experienced. I can't even begin to explain how many delicious, quality options they had every morning… surely do not miss out on this! The rooms and spa we're gorgeous. Classy, clean, modern, but maintains the demeanor of a hotel with history. One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at!
What could be improved: No complaints. Lightbulb didn't work initially – was an easy fix. Nespresso machine was a bit fiddigity. I tried really hard to find things I didn't like!Adolfo from Switzerland – 21 March 2025 (8/10)
The service. Even if the hotel was running out of hot water due a boiler problem, the staff made it up by arranging our stay.
What could be improved: Water in the spa pool too cold.Netanel from Israel – 21 March 2025 (9/10)
Eduard from the receipt was really helpful. He located for us lost baggage in a McDonald's branch and contacted them by phone. He also gave us many good recommendations.
Rooms are very equipped, and the room service has huge amount of amenities if needed (such as brashing and shaving kit bit also charging kita for mobile devices).
Great location: walking distance to many attractions, close to public transportation stations.
What could be improved: Room TV isn't smart: you can stream to it via screen share, but does not have apps like Netflix, Amazon, Disney and suchSophie from United Kingdom – 17 March 2025 (9/10)
Gorgeous hotel, service was fantastic, breakfast was also great – we had such a memorable stay!
What could be improved: The pool water was quite cold.Chelsea from Germany – 17 March 2025 (9/10)
We loved it. The staff was great. They even had a surprise for us. Wonderful.
What could be improved: The water in the pool was too cold to really enjoy it in winter.
