National Museum Apartment by Ruterra Overview

First Impressions

Walking up to National Museum Apartment by Ruterra, you immediately get that “I’m staying somewhere special” feeling. The building sits on a quiet street in Prague‘s Vinohrady district, and honestly, the location alone makes this three-star property punch above its weight. I mean, you’re literally a stone’s throw from Wenceslas Square and the National Museum — hence the name, I suppose. The entrance feels more like stepping into a well-maintained residential building than a typical hotel, which actually adds to the charm.

The Apartment Experience

What sets this place apart is that you’re getting an actual apartment rather than just a hotel room. The space feels lived-in but polished, with that perfect balance of homey comfort and cleanliness you want when traveling. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped — I’m talking proper cookware, not just a kettle and some sad plastic cups. You know what’s great about having your own space? You can actually spread out your stuff without living out of a suitcase for your entire stay.

Location Perks

Here’s where this place really shines, and the couples who rated the location 8.5 definitely know what they’re talking about. You’re in Vinohrady, which locals will tell you is one of the best residential neighborhoods in Prague. It’s got that perfect mix — close enough to walk to Old Town (about 15 minutes), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds every time you step outside. There’s a tram stop practically at your doorstep, and the area has some genuinely good cafes and pubs that aren’t tourist traps.

Practical Considerations

Let’s be real about what you’re getting here — this is solid value for money in a city where location matters everything. The 7.3 rating feels about right; it’s not going to blow you away, but there aren’t any major disappointments either. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area (it’s street parking mostly), so if you’re driving, factor that in. The building itself is older, so don’t expect ultra-modern amenities, but everything works as it should.

Why Guests Love It

What really makes this place work is the independence it gives you. You’re not tied to hotel breakfast times or worrying about disturbing other guests when you come back late from exploring Prague’s famous beer halls. The apartment setup means you can actually live like a local for a few days rather than just passing through. Plus, that location score of 8.4 isn’t just marketing fluff — you really can walk to most of Prague’s highlights, and when your feet get tired, public transport connections are excellent. For couples especially, having your own space to decompress after long days of sightseeing makes a real difference.

Reviews of National Museum Apartment by Ruterra

  • OK overall – Andrés from Argentina – 24 January 2025 (7/10)

    The location was excellent

What could be improved: Wifi worked kind of slow

  • Convenient and cheap. – Filip from Poland – 11 November 2024 (8/10)

The apartament is located very close to the old town, there is plenty of café, beer houses and shops in its vicinity.

What could be improved: Apatament itself begs for little renovation and deep cleaning. Its not terrible by any means but here and there you can see signs of wear.

  • Comfortable stay – Nuria from Argentina – 5 November 2024 (9/10)

Everything was great. The apartment is small but spacious and has everything you may need and all the kitchen appliances, icluding a small dishwasher.

What could be improved: They make you pick up the key somewhere else. It's not a super long walk maybe 15' ~ 20' but it's really annoying when you are tired from a flight and need to carry your bags along.

The window looked out onto an air shaft.

  • Minimum expectations met – Kevin from Ireland – 30 October 2024 (6/10)

What could be improved: Enquired about early check-in but no effort was made to accommodate this

  • Good – Juraj from United Kingdom – 25 July 2024 (7/10)

Location is great,5 minutes walk to Wenceslas square ,lots of cafes and restaurants nearby, it's very quiet in the flat.Communication was clear and prompt, stuff was helpful.

What could be improved: We have booked for 2+2 but it's not suitable for the family of 4.Its 1 double bed and 1 single bed .

  • It met our expectations for a short-term stay. – Ozan from Turkey – 4 July 2024 (7/10)

The location of the house is excellent, it is very close to public transportation, the kitchen utensils are adequate.

What could be improved: The internet was down, we couldn't watch TV, and there was noise because of construction on the street. The refrigerator did not cool enough.

  • Location is great, clean, worth the money. – Tkaasik from Estonia – 11 November 2023 (7/10)

Quick and detailed info about arrival and handing over the keys etc.

What could be improved: Pillows were quite bad

  • Exceptional – David from Serbia – 25 September 2023 (10/10)

very clean, in center, everything is perfect

  • would recommend and come back – Sam from Australia – 15 June 2023 (8/10)

Great location and was amazing to be able to do a wash. Only thing missing was a drying rack, and I had to fix the router myself to get internet but perfect otherwise.

What could be improved: Drying rack

  • Good – Constantin from Romania – 2 December 2022 (7/10)

The apartment is cozy and location is ok (you can easily go in the city center by foot).

What could be improved: There is no door between rooms and this is not observed in the photos.
