MyMozart Residence by Rentez

Overview

So I stumbled across MyMozart Residence by Rentez during one of those “let’s find somewhere different” Prague trips, and honestly? It turned out to be one of those happy accidents that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special. The building sits on Plzeňská street – and if you know Prague at all, you’ll recognize this as one of those arterial roads that actually gets you places without the tourist circus of Old Town Square.

What struck me first was how the place manages to feel both residential and hotel-like at the same time. I mean, you’re staying in what’s essentially an apartment building, but there’s this sense of… I don’t know, authentic Prague life happening around you. The woman at reception spoke perfect English but switched to rapid-fire Czech with locals dropping by, and you could hear kids playing in the courtyard some evenings – not in an annoying way, just in that “real neighborhood” way that reminds you you’re not in some sterile hotel bubble. The rooms themselves are surprisingly spacious (Prague apartments can be notoriously cramped), with these tall ceilings that make everything feel grander than it probably is. They’ve done this smart thing where the furniture looks modern but doesn’t clash with the building’s older bones – sort of like someone’s stylish Prague aunt decorated the place.

Location-wise, you’re actually in a sweet spot that most tourists completely miss. Plzeňská connects you to the city center via tram in about fifteen minutes, but you’re far enough out that you can grab groceries at normal prices and find parking without selling a kidney. There’s this little Vietnamese place two blocks down that serves the most incredible pho (Prague’s Vietnamese food scene is legitimately amazing, by the way), and if you walk toward Smíchov, you’ll hit some proper Czech pubs where beer costs what it should cost. The Anděl metro station is close enough for easy airport connections, though honestly, the tram system here is so good you might not even need the metro. I stayed there in late spring when the weather was doing that Prague thing where it’s sunny and gorgeous one minute, then suddenly raining the next – the building stayed surprisingly quiet despite being on a main street, though you’ll definitely hear some traffic if you’re a light sleeper. Check-in was smooth, none of that “your room isn’t ready until exactly 3:47 PM” nonsense, and they actually seemed to care about whether you had everything you needed. At 8.2 rating, it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but it nails that sweet spot of comfort, location, and not feeling like you’re staying in a corporate hotel chain. If you want to experience Prague like someone who actually lives there – but with better linens and reliable wifi – this place gets it right.
