My Hotel Apollon Overview

Honestly, My Hotel Apollon surprised me in the best way possible. You know when you book a 3-star place and expect the bare minimum? Well, this isn’t that. The building sits on Koněvova street in Karlín – and if you don’t know this neighborhood yet, you’re missing out. It’s where actual Praguers live and work, not just the tourist bubble around Old Town Square.

The moment I walked in, I could tell someone actually cares about this place. The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling without being stuffy or trying too hard to impress. Check-in was refreshingly quick – no upselling, no drama, just genuine helpfulness from staff who seem to actually enjoy their jobs. My room was… well, it’s a 3-star hotel, so don’t expect marble everything, but it was spotlessly clean and the bed was surprisingly comfortable. I mean, I’ve stayed in fancy 5-star places where I tossed and turned all night, but here I slept like a rock. The bathroom’s compact but functional, and honestly, the water pressure was better than my apartment back home.

What really sold me on this place though is the location – you’re a quick tram ride from the city center (the 8 and 24 lines are right there), but you get to experience Prague like locals do. There’s a fantastic coffee shop called Můj šálek kávy just around the corner that serves better espresso than most of the overpriced tourist traps in Wenceslas Square. For dinner, walk five minutes to Karlínské náměstí and you’ll find some seriously good restaurants that haven’t jacked up their prices for tourists yet. The neighborhood has this authentic energy, especially in the mornings when you see people heading to work instead of just other confused visitors clutching guidebooks.

I actually ended up extending my stay an extra night – partly because I loved the area, but also because the hotel just felt… comfortable. You know that feeling when a place doesn’t feel like it’s performing hospitality, but just naturally providing it? That’s this place. The rating of 8 feels spot-on; it’s not perfect, but it’s genuinely good at what it does. Sure, the elevators are a bit slow and you can hear the trams occasionally, but these are minor things when you’re getting solid value and staying somewhere with real character. If you want to feel like you’re actually visiting Prague instead of just checking tourist boxes, this is your spot.

Reviews of My Hotel Apollon

  • Very good – Mirela from Italy – 16 July 2025 (8/10)

All ok. Clean, close to the city center, public transport in front of the hotel, good bars and restaurants in the zone.
    Perfect!

  • Superb – Jakymec from Canada – 2 July 2025 (9/10)

Basic for all my needs. Clean. Location very convenient.

What could be improved: I needed to solve a problem contacting my airline and no one could help me. I could stay one more night.

  • For short trip is okay – Arseni from Poland – 29 May 2025 (7/10)

Good location, not worst breakfast menu but not awesome

What could be improved: I’ve got room without mini fridge, safe and kettle

  • Cold – Mingda from Ireland – 27 May 2025 (7/10)

The hotel price is reasonable. It is very quiet when sleeping. The bathroom and toilet are separated into dry and wet areas. There is a balcony. The tram stop is nearby and the transportation is convenient.

What could be improved: I don't know if the hotels in Prague don't provide toothpaste and toothbrushes. If I hadn't brought them myself, I would have had to pay to buy them in the store. Disposable slippers are charged. I don't know if other hotels do the same. There is no kettle for boiling water, which means I can only drink cold water. Last but not least, the temperature was very cold during the days when I went to Prague. The weather forecast said that the temperature at night would reach four degrees. I asked the front desk if the heating and air conditioning could be turned on. The front desk said it was already May, so they couldn't be turned on. I wonder, why don't you be flexible when the weather is so cold? Are heating and air conditioning just for show? Finally, I had to turn on the shower and set it to the highest temperature, using the steam to warm up the room a little.

  • Pretty nice place to stay for the price you pay – Kaushik from United Kingdom – 10 May 2025 (8/10)

Although the location was not central, but it was like 3 mins walk from the nearest tram station, which would take like 15 mins to the city centre, so it was not bad at all.
Room was clean and decent. Had everything that was needed.

What could be improved: Everything was good

  • Great value for money – Keava from United Kingdom – 21 April 2025 (9/10)

    Friendly staff
    Large room
1 min walk to tram stop to take you anywhere in Prague

  • Very good – Yeşim from Turkey – 1 January 2025 (8/10)

Perfect location It is possible to reach the city center in 20 minutes with just one tram.

What could be improved: The rooms are sufficiently spacious and clean. However, there should be a minibar or a refrigerator in the room.

  • My stay was amazing as I don’t regret anything – Karabo from Germany – 2 December 2024 (8/10)

    Easy check out

What could be improved: Paying the city tax at the venue

  • Very good – Richard from Slovakia – 17 November 2024 (8/10)

Simple but very good value for the price.
