Hotel Description

You know what? I was honestly skeptical when I first walked up to Motel One Prague-Florentinum on Na Poříčí street. The name “motel” had me expecting something roadside and basic, but this place completely flipped that assumption on its head. It’s actually tucked into this sleek modern building that somehow manages to feel both contemporary and distinctly Prague at the same time – if that makes sense. The lobby hits you with this clean, almost minimalist vibe that’s refreshing after wandering through all the ornate baroque stuff around the city center.

Here’s the thing about the location that most travel sites won’t tell you: Na Poříčí is this perfect sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to Old Town Square (maybe 10-12 minutes if you don’t get distracted by the shops), but you’re not dealing with the tourist crowds right outside your door. I mean, you can actually hear normal city sounds instead of constant tour groups. The Florenc metro station is literally a few minutes away, which honestly saved me so much time getting around – and if you’re planning day trips outside Prague, the main bus terminal is right there too. There’s this great little Vietnamese place called Pho Vietnam just down the street that locals actually eat at, not just tourists, and trust me on this one.

What really got me about this place was how they managed to nail the details without being pretentious about it. The rooms are compact but smart – everything has its place, and the bed is actually comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses). The bathroom products smell good without being overwhelming, and there’s proper water pressure, which… well, you learn to appreciate these things when you travel enough. The staff at reception genuinely seemed to know the city – when I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner, the guy didn’t just point me toward the tourist traps but actually suggested a route through some quieter streets. Check-in was smooth, no weird hidden fees or pushy upselling. The Wi-Fi works properly throughout the building, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places mess this up. Honestly, for a 3-star place with an 8.6 rating, it punches above its weight. You’re getting that boutique hotel feel without the boutique hotel prices, and in Prague’s city center, that’s pretty hard to find.

Reviews

  • Keeping the brand standards everywhere – Grazielaa from Portugal – 21 July 2025 (10/10)

I like to stay at Motel One because there is no surprises. They keep up the same standards in all their branches. Everything is just exact to meet your needs. In this branch, the location was great. It was a walking distance to the city center and to the rail station. There were also plenty of opportunities of public transportation around, farmacy, grocery stores, pastries stores and restaurants.

What could be improved: The assortiment of nuts and seeds at the breakfast could be better, but this is just a suggestion and not really a problem.

  • Great Hotel and close to the centrum – Ivar from Netherlands – 19 July 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: We were on the second floor and there was an outside spot light on the building that reflected back into our window so it was very bright at night.

  • A thoroughly enjoyable stay. – Andrew from United Kingdom – 5 July 2025 (8/10)

The lobby was inviting and a comfortable stop for a quick drink. The corridors upstairs were plain and basic but everything was clean. We were out exploring the city all day so the hotel was perfect for what we needed. A 10 minute walk from the old town so ideal for tourists. No coffee and tea making facilities in the bedroom but with a Starbucks next door, this wasn't a problem.
