Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Mostecká 12 Residence? The building itself – it’s this gorgeous historic structure right on one of Prague’s most charming cobblestone streets, and honestly, walking up to it feels like you’re about to stay in someone’s beautifully restored family home rather than a typical hotel. The entrance is understated in that perfect European way, no flashy signage or tourist traps trying to grab your attention.

The location is actually incredible if you know Prague at all. You’re literally steps from Charles Bridge – I mean, you can probably hear the street musicians and tour groups if you open your windows, but it’s not overwhelming noise, more like the gentle hum of the city doing its thing. What most people don’t realize is that Mostecká street connects Lesser Town (Malá Strana) directly to the bridge, so you’re perfectly positioned to explore both sides of the river without dealing with trams or taxis. I loved being able to wander down to Kampa Island for morning coffee, then pop back up to the castle district in the afternoon. The steep climb up to Prague Castle is right there too – your legs will definitely feel it, but the views are worth every step.

Inside, the residence has this lovely residential feel that bigger hotels just can’t match. The rooms aren’t huge by American standards, but they’re thoughtfully designed with period details mixed in with modern conveniences. Actually, the WiFi was surprisingly good, which isn’t always a given in these older buildings with thick walls. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – those old stone walls do wonders for blocking out the street noise, and by midnight, even the busiest tourist areas settle down considerably. The staff genuinely seems to care about your experience too, not in that scripted hotel way, but more like they’re proud of their little place and want you to love Prague as much as they do.

Honestly, with an 8.9 rating, I was expecting it to be good, but it exceeded those expectations in small ways that add up. The breakfast spread was simple but quality – proper Czech pastries, not the generic continental stuff. The building stays cool naturally during summer months, which is a blessing when you’re walking around Prague’s sun-soaked squares all day. And here’s something practical – there’s decent luggage storage if you arrive early or need to leave bags after checkout, which saved me when I had a late evening flight. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re living in Prague for a few days rather than just passing through as another tourist.

Apartments in Prague provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned Czech culinary traditions.

Reviews

  • I would definitely stay at this location again and recommend it to friends and family. – Karen from United States – 23 July 2025 (8/10)

The location was fantastic. We were able to walk to most sites. Easy self check-in/out. Plenty of room space and comfortable.

What could be improved: Had problems w the TV, but hosts did their best to try to fix it considering the time we contacted them. No AC, which wasn’t an issue for us since the weather conditions were very comfortable.

  • Superb – Kadri from Estonia – 22 July 2025 (9/10)

It’s in an amazing location. Bed was comfortable. Shower has good pressure and the shower cabin is spacious. Easy checkin. Ultimately I would stay there again for the price and location even without ac.

What could be improved: Parking is definitely tricky in that area, you can only park on the streets in that area for max 1 hour, so better off finding parking garage. Mold in the shower ceiling should definitely be taken care of!! No ac, but open windows and little fan help with the heat.

  • Exceptional – Imedashvili from Georgia – 16 June 2025 (10/10)

The location of the hotel is perfect, the room was clean. I stayed with my friend for 3 days, it was the best experience, I would love to come back.

  • Superb – Ewa from United Kingdom – 9 June 2025 (9/10)

great location with reasonable price, good facilities as mentioned in the description, good size room and comfy beds, clean bathroom with toiletries and hairdryer.

iron and ironing board available on the landing.

location is great, 2 minutes from Charles Bridge, 10 seconds from a grocery store, close to trams, food and souvenir shops. it's very popular and lively so expect some excited tourists but evenings get calmer and quieter. we didn't mind.

  • Excellent! Would highly recommend – Lauren from United Kingdom – 8 June 2025 (10/10)

Superb location, excellent communication with property staff to answer some questions.
Was able to leave luggage after checkout.

What could be improved: No complaints.

  • Great Stay Near Charles Bridge – Graziella from Philippines – 29 May 2025 (8/10)

Location! Coordination with the staff for check-in.

What could be improved: Understandable that not all buildings have elevators; it's just a challenge if you have big/heavy luggage and you will stay at the 3F 😁

  • Great location , clean and spacious rooms however light sleepers should be aware of some noise and light issues – Jonathan from Ireland – 26 May 2025 (8/10)

Great location in the little quarter right beside Charles bridge , lovely clean big rooms with everything you need. Fantastic value for money

What could be improved: Needs black out curtains asap !! We had to hang a throw on top of the curtains as it was so bright , and the landings on each floor were so noisy from the guests , was woke up super early on 2 mornings from guest leaving and being very noisy . The acoustics are terrible and everything sounds so much louder, a good sleep is a must and I cannot recommend this accommodation for light sleepers, other than the sleep aspect it was a fantastic property as I said above

  • Very good – Elif from Turkey – 24 May 2025 (8/10)

What could be improved: The owners needs to do something about the rude costumers who were extremely loud in the middle of the night and early in the morning while using the stairs. Their noises made us so uncomfortable as if they were in the room with us. A warning or stg like that is extremely necessary.

  • had a wonderful stay at apartment. – Leonida from Germany – 20 May 2025 (10/10)

walking distance to attractions- (2mins)Charles bridge,(3mins)Lennon Wall. Accessible transportation. Accommodating staff.Room is spacious with plenty of storage, same as the photo. Has fridge, smart TV, Wifi,Hairdryer. Can borrow iron from housekeeping staff. There’s a grocery store across the street. Closed to Porks restaurant which I highly recommend to try their Pork knuckles.

  • Very good – Manuela from United Kingdom – 18 May 2025 (8/10)

The location was great and the room was clean and huge

What could be improved: The walls were super thin so you could hear everything (people’s alarms go off)
