Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Mordecai 12 Apartments when I first walked down Maiselova Street – it’s tucked into this narrow cobblestone lane that feels almost secretive, you know? But the moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about what travelers need. The apartments have that rare combination of being genuinely comfortable without trying too hard to impress you with fancy nonsense.

What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night, which is pretty remarkable considering you’re literally in the heart of the Jewish Quarter. I mean, you’re maybe a three-minute walk from the Old Town Square (and trust me, I timed it because I’m obsessive like that), but somehow the building sits on this peaceful pocket where the tourist chaos just… fades away. The apartments themselves feel more like staying in a friend’s well-appointed flat than a hotel – there’s actual counter space in the kitchenette, decent water pressure in the shower, and windows that open properly, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places get that wrong. I particularly loved that they gave each unit enough space to actually unpack your suitcase somewhere other than the bed.

The location thing is worth talking about because it’s not just about being central – though you definitely are. You’ve got Pařížská Street with all its high-end shopping just around the corner, and the Pinkas Synagogue is practically next door if you’re into the historical stuff. But what I really appreciated was being close to some of the smaller streets where locals actually go – like, there’s this little bakery on Vězeňská that does incredible koláče, and you’d walk right past it if you were staying over by Wenceslas Square with all the other tourists. The tram stops are easy to reach when you want to venture out to Vinohrady or across the river, but honestly, most days I found myself just wandering the neighborhood on foot because everything felt so walkable. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no dramatic lobby scene, just efficient people who clearly know what they’re doing and can give you actual recommendations rather than just pointing to a tourist map.

  Very spacious, well located and a quiet street.
  Overall really clean.
  
  What could be improved: Strictly no flexibility on check-in and check-out times.
  The couch was absolutely filthy (see pictures), it felt completely out of place compared to the flat's overall cleanliness. It needs to be changed or at least have a thorough steam clean.

  The apartment had everything I needed, and the location was perfect. The property management company takes a while to respond to correspondence. It is best to call or walk over to their reception office a few minutes away, however, I would stay here again. For extended stays, they provide cleaning services every five days.
  
  What could be improved: I didn't have a safe deposit box, but the size of my apartment was perfect for an extended stay. It was just a couple blocks away from the Old Town.
