Honestly, when I first walked up Jánský vršek to find MOOo by the Castle, I wasn’t expecting much – you know how these boutique places can be hit or miss. But this little gem tucked away on one of Prague’s most charming cobblestone streets actually blew me away. The location is insane (in the best way) – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Prague Castle, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize: you’re also perfectly positioned to duck into Nerudova Street’s quirky shops or grab coffee at one of those tiny cafés that locals actually frequent. The 9.7 rating isn’t just tourist fluff – it’s earned.

What really got me was how they’ve managed to create this modern, almost playful vibe while respecting the historic neighborhood. The name “MOOo” might sound a bit silly, but the interiors are anything but – think sleek lines mixed with just enough Czech character that you don’t feel like you’re in some generic international chain. The rooms are surprisingly quiet considering you’re in the heart of Lesser Town, though I’ll be honest, if you’re a super light sleeper, you might catch some late-night chatter from people wandering back from the castle area on weekends. The staff actually knows their stuff too – not just the standard tourist recommendations, but they pointed me toward this incredible traditional Czech restaurant down near Kampa Island that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Here’s what sold me completely: the attention to details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The shower pressure is fantastic (you’d be surprised how many Prague hotels mess this up), there’s proper closet space, and – this might sound weird but trust me – the curtains actually block out light so you can sleep past sunrise. Plus, parking isn’t the nightmare you’d expect in this part of the city if you’re driving, though honestly, you won’t need a car once you’re here. The tram stops on Malostranské náměstí are maybe a five-minute walk, and from there you can get anywhere in Prague without dealing with the tourist crowds that clog up the main castle entrance. I mean, you’re staying where locals actually live and work, not in some sterile hotel district. The whole Jánský vršek area has this authentic Prague feeling – narrow medieval streets, baroque buildings, and that perfect mix of residents and visitors that keeps a neighborhood alive without killing its soul.

  Everything at Mooo by The Castle was outstanding.
  The location was perfect and an easy walk to everything the Historic and Beautiful city of Prague has to offer.
  The 2 bedroom apartment was amazing and very spacious.
  The history of the building .
  Martyn and Mariia were the greatest friendly , helpful, knowledgeable.

  The property was excellent. No complaints at all. Only the shower mixer is a little difficult to operate to get correct temperature of water.

  The room was spotless, the decor absolutely amazing, much larger than I expected, the bed and pillows are so comfortable and the cow art is really impressive.
  
  The rooms overlook a beautiful courtyard, the property used to be owned by an alchemist and there is a museum on the premises and Kellyxir, a bar that looks great, they have cocktails that look like potions, they also serve food but I would suggest to eat elsewhere as there are so many amazing food places a short walk from the hotel.
  
  The hotel staff were fantastic, very friendly and helpful. We had a bottle of bubbly waiting for us on arrival with a sweet message.
  
  I really liked the location, as the name states, it's close to the castle and it's about 5 minutes walk from the closest tram station, but it's slightly uphill and the stairs leading to the rooms are steep so I wouldn't advise someone with mobility issues to stay.
  
  Otherwise, I would definitely recommend it to anyone that is considering booking their stay here, luxury at affordable prices and in a beautiful area.

  Very comfortable and spacious room, great facilities. I absolutely appreciate the peace and quiet and the pleasant atmosphere. There are many restaurants nearby where you can buy food "to take home" and enjoy the calm evening. Very friendly staff who solved everything I needed. This place is really 10/10 *

  The location of MOOo by the Castle was perfect at the foot of the Prague Castle. The rooms were spacious and spotlessly clean. The design of it was beautiful. We had great sleep and could find everything we needed for our stay. The receptionists Mariia and Martyna were very welcoming and helpful. The used the spa of their sister hotel and loved the experience. We will come back for sure! Thank you for everything.

  Excellent apartment for a five day stay in Prague. Location excellent, really quiet but 10 minutes walk away from the castle in one direction and Charles Bridge in the other. Facilities were great, room cleaned every day, all good. Highly recommended 👌

  Very well located, in the heart of the old Prague. Access to Petrin hill is very easy and fast. There are many really cute souvenir shops around the location of the apartment. When I realized I had forgotten valuable goods in the apartment's safe, the host was extremely helpful to ship it back to my home!
