Modern urban room in the city center of Prague Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “Modern urban room” as the hotel name, I rolled my eyes a bit. Sounds like every generic Airbnb listing, right? But this little place on Nekázanka street actually surprised me. It’s tucked into this narrow street that most tourists walk right past, which is honestly perfect because you’re literally two minutes from Wenceslas Square but without all the chaos and tourist trap restaurants right outside your door.

The building itself has that classic Prague thing going on – old Austro-Hungarian facade with completely redone interiors. You know what I mean if you’ve spent any time in this city. The room was genuinely modern though, not just IKEA furniture slapped together (I’ve stayed in enough of those). Clean lines, decent WiFi that actually worked for video calls, and – this matters more than you’d think – really good blackout curtains. Prague in summer stays light until like 9 PM, so trust me on this one. The bathroom was compact but well thought out, with one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has pressure. Small thing, but after walking around cobblestones all day, it hits different.

What really sold me on the location was stumbling onto Havelské Tržiště market just around the corner – it’s this little farmers market that runs most days, and the locals actually shop there. You can grab proper Czech bread and coffee for breakfast instead of paying hotel prices. Plus, you’re walking distance to both the touristy stuff (Old Town Square is maybe 8 minutes) and some genuinely good neighborhood spots. There’s this wine bar called Vinohradský pivovar about three blocks away that I never would’ve found if I’d stayed in the hotel district. The street itself gets a bit of tram noise during the day, but honestly, that’s just Prague being Prague – it stops around 11 PM and starts again around 5 AM, so not too bad for light sleepers.

The whole experience felt more like staying in someone’s guest room than a hotel, which I mean as a compliment. Check-in was smooth, the guy at the desk gave me actual recommendations (not just the standard tourist checklist), and when I had an issue with the key card on day two, they sorted it out immediately. For a 3-star place, it punches above its weight – that 8.5 rating makes sense when you factor in the location and the fact that you’re getting authentic Prague neighborhood vibes without sacrificing comfort. I’d definitely book it again, especially if you’re the type who wants to explore beyond the castle and the astronomical clock.

Reviews of Modern urban room in the city center of Prague

  • Convenient location and comfortable – Veronica from United Kingdom – 6 July 2025 (10/10)

    Convenient location.

What could be improved: The toilet and shower area was all see-through glass so privacy was lacking

  • I did enjoy it. Everything was perfect except that bathroom floor. – Norris from United Kingdom – 24 June 2025 (10/10)

It was walking distance to the old town. Near restaurants.
    It was clean and adfordable.

What could be improved: The bathroom was great but i dont like the fact that water goes near toilet when shower. It would be nice if there was a stopper on the floor between the shower and toilet so it wont flood the toilet after shower.

  • Amazing location and price would recommend! – Benjamin from United Kingdom – 10 May 2025 (10/10)

Amazing location and price had everything we needed.

    What could be improved: Nothing.

  • Good place for its money, however during winter months there might be problems with water in the shower – Михаил from Russia – 19 December 2024 (7/10)

The location is amazing. The check in/out procedures were also very easy, the place was small but nice and clean

What could be improved: There was a problem with water in the room (low pressure and need to wait a lot of time to take the shower) and we were told that the problem could not be fixed. However, the stuff was almost always readily available and finally they refunded us with the price of one night so the final experience is pretty good.

  • Good – Lechrin from Sweden – 7 November 2024 (7/10)

    Good location, clean.

What could be improved: Water in the shower is so little.

  • The best spot to explore the city from – Emilia from Poland – 4 October 2024 (9/10)

The room is beautiful and the bed extremely comfy. Provided mini-fridge, fan, hair dryer and TV all worked without issue and came in handy more than once! Instructions for check-in, internet access and trash removal were all very clear. We accidentally didn't receive the automated check-in email, but this issue was immediately resolved when we contacted the staff. Our security deposit was also returned in a timely manner without issue.

The location is fantastic for sightseeing, just hidden enough to be calm and quiet, but very close to both old town and train station. There's good places to eat and relax all around. I will forever remember this as the place where me and my partner got engaged <3

What could be improved: The room can get stuffy in the summer, but there is a fan on-site that really helps a lot. Water pressure in the shower also isn't great. This is both due to the building being an antique townhouse, so we don't blame the owners in the slightest.

  • Exceptional – Alice from Netherlands – 28 May 2024 (10/10)

The location is amazing with so many nice restaurants and bistros around. Walking distance to the city's top tourist attractions and the main shopping street. We found it incredibly convenient to walk to several historic sites, it made our stay very enjoyable. The apartment itself is beautifully designed and very well-cleaned, accessible 24/7 – looks like totally new! I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to experience this lovely city!

  • Ideal modern appartment in Prague centre for singles/ couples. – Yvydrenth from Netherlands – 19 June 2024 (9/10)

The room is perfect for couples or singles. The appartment isn't very big, but has everything you need. Very clean, very comfortable bed and a nice shower/bathroom. The location is perfect, right in the middle of the centre (everything within walking distance), but in a quiet street so you can sleep without too much noise from outside. Inside the building it is also very quiet at night.

Before arrival you receive very clear instructions about the online check in process and a document how to get into the building and get your keys from the lockbox. This is all very easy and flexible. If you wish, you can also have a host welcome you in person.

Contact was very easy and pleasant via the booking.com chat. We had a wonderful time in Prague and I would reccommend this appartment to everyone who spends most time discovering the city for a stay of about 7 days. For longer stays you might want a bigger appartment.

What could be improved: Everything was really good, but here are some minor points to consider:

    – The self check-in to get the keys was easy for us, but maybe not for everyone. You can ask for a personal welcome.
    – The water pressure of the shower could be better, but give it some minutes and then the pressure goes up. (Sometimes it seems the hot water is nog working, but it just needs some stat-up time.)
    – The appartment is small. This is good for people who spend most of their time outside of the appartment or for shorter stays up to 7 days for example.
    – The room can get very hot, there is no airconditioning. The room does have 2 windows you can open to let in some fresh air.

  • Pleasant – Mai-liis from Estonia – 31 May 2025 (6/10)

The location was superb – all main attractions were at a walking distance. Also – the direct tram to the O2 arena was close by (convenient for visitors going to shows/concerts at the arena).

What could be improved: There was a smell of cat urine in the room. I informed the host about the smell on the second day of my stay and they provided diffusers but that didn't really get rid of the smell. Fortunately the smell wasn't too intense so you got used to it after some time. Additionally the wifi was not working properly and on the last day the toilet water kept running after flushing.

  • Exceptional – Javier from Italy – 26 May 2025 (10/10)

Muy buena ubicación y todo muy moderno

What could be improved: El colchón hay que rotarlo
