Miss Sophie’s Charles Bridge Overview
Honestly, when I first walked into Miss Sophie’s Charles Bridge, I wasn’t expecting much — you know how these boutique places can sometimes be all style and no substance? But this one actually gets it right. The building sits right on Malostranské náměstí, which means you’re literally in the heart of Lesser Town, and I mean *the* heart. Step outside and you’re surrounded by those gorgeous baroque buildings that make Prague feel like a fairy tale, except you’re not fighting tourist crowds because most people are still trudging up from the river.
The hotel itself has this perfect balance of old-world charm and modern comfort that’s honestly hard to pull off. The rooms aren’t huge — this is Prague, after all, where space comes at a premium — but they’re thoughtfully designed with exposed beams and these beautiful hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you you’re in a 14th-century building. What I really appreciated was the attention to details that actually matter: proper blackout curtains (essential if you’re jet-lagged), rainfall showers that don’t run out of hot water, and — this might sound weird — but the beds are positioned so you’re not staring at a wall when you wake up. Small thing, but it makes a difference.
The location is what really sets this place apart though. You’re a three-minute walk from Charles Bridge, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize — you approach it from the Lesser Town side, which means you get those incredible views of Prague Castle behind you as you cross. Most tourists start from Old Town and miss that perspective entirely. Plus, being on Malostranské náměstí puts you right next to St. Nicholas Church (the baroque one, not the Gothic one in Old Town — locals will appreciate you knowing the difference), and you’re surrounded by these little wine bars and traditional Czech restaurants that haven’t been completely overrun yet. The staff actually gave me directions to a spot called Kampa Park — not the expensive restaurant, but the actual island park where locals bring their dogs. It’s maybe a two-minute walk and perfect for morning coffee or an evening stroll when the castle lights come on.
I’ll be honest, it’s not cheap, but with a 9.1 rating, you’re paying for quality that delivers. The breakfast is proper European style — none of that continental hotel nonsense — and the front desk team knows Prague like they grew up here, which many of them did. One guy recommended a tram route that took me up to Prague Castle through neighborhoods I never would have found otherwise. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a stay memorable rather than just comfortable.

What could be improved: Nothing…Indre from United Kingdom – 10 March 2025 (9/10)
The location was perfect close to all main attractions. Hotel itself was so cozy, rooms made to feel like your are at home and not in a hotel. Breakfast was laid out just outside the room so you can take your pick and bring the plate to your room to enjoy breakfast in a little cosy kitchenette where you can also enjoy the views of Prague. Breakfast selection was great, waffles and pancakes made fresh were delicious.
I will definitely return next time I’m in Prague
What could be improved: Nit picking only, shower head needs looking in to as it was not adjustable therefore little uncomfortable at times.Carla from Portugal – 28 February 2025 (9/10)
Very well located, the room was very spacious, comfortable and clean, with a great view! Breakfast was very well served with lots of good options.

The location is excellent. You're right where you need to be to explore the city.
Breakfast is unique and very satisfying.
The character and charm of the building itself gives you a real Prague feel.
The receptionist on arrival was knowledgeable and very informative.
What could be improved: There was an issue with the hot water in the property.
Whilst this didn't affect our trip, it wasn't ideal showering in the cold. Very minor issue compared to the positives of this hotel.Shiu from United Kingdom – 8 February 2025 (9/10)

They served an exceptional breakfast, offering both hot and cold foods. They location was conveniently situated within walking distance to both Prague Castle and the Old Town.

Amazing view out of the window, 3 minutes from Karlov Bridge, not bad breakfast (but?! without water??), included small but good mini-bar.
What could be improved: At first glance, you are captivated by the beauty of the surrounding city and the pleasant atmosphere inside the room. Much later, you begin to notice that the room has "seen better days": the chain lock on the door falls off along with the screw, the windowsill is barely secured, and the window fittings are broken or damaged. This is not the high standard the hotel seems to aim for and position itself as offering. It would be good to suggest conducting an audit of all the rooms and assessing whether the owners themselves are satisfied with the current "worn-out" living conditions provided to guests.
