You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name basically tells you everything you need to know, and honestly, they’re not overselling it. I mean, “12 min Centrum” sounds almost too straightforward, but I timed it – it’s actually closer to 10 minutes on foot to get to Wenceslas Square, which is pretty solid for Prague standards without paying those insane Old Town prices.

The location on Hlaváčkova is in this sort of residential pocket that feels authentically Prague – you’re walking past actual Czech families heading to work, not just tourists taking selfies every five meters. There’s this supermarket right in the building (hence the name), and I can’t stress enough how clutch that is when you want to grab breakfast stuff or a bottle of wine without hunting around. The 200Mb WiFi thing? They’re not kidding around – I was video calling back home without any of those frustrating lag moments that usually happen in European hotels. Actually worked better than my internet at home, which is… well, slightly embarrassing.

The rooms themselves have this clean, unfussy vibe that grows on you. Nothing fancy, but everything works properly, and honestly, after staying in some “charming” places where the shower barely functioned, I appreciated that the basics were just handled well. The beds are actually comfortable – not too soft, not like sleeping on concrete – and the windows open properly for fresh air, which matters more than you’d think in Prague’s summer months. I stayed here in late September and it was dead quiet at night, even though you’re still connected to the city center. The tram connections from nearby are fantastic too – you can get pretty much anywhere without thinking too hard about it.

What really sold me on the place was this 9.4 rating, which seemed almost too good to be true for a 3-star spot. But after a few days, I got it. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – just a well-run, practical place where everything functions smoothly and the staff actually seems to care about doing their job well. The check-in was quick, they had solid recommendations for restaurants (led me to this incredible goulash place about six blocks away), and when I had a question about laundry, they sorted it out immediately instead of giving me that glazed-over look you sometimes get. Plus, being slightly outside the main tourist chaos means you get a better sense of what Prague actually feels like to live in, not just visit. If you’re the type who wants to explore the city rather than just stay holed up in a hotel lobby, this spot makes a lot of sense.
