Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked into METRO Apartment Prague by Main Train and Bus Station, I’ll be honest — the name doesn’t exactly scream romance or charm. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Prague, and once you get past that utilitarian name, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something pretty special. The building has this understated elegance that feels authentically Czech — not trying too hard to impress tourists, but quietly confident in what it offers.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about Prague — everyone talks about staying near the Old Town Square, but honestly, being close to the main train station is brilliant. You’re literally steps away from Hlavní nádraží, which means you can hop on a train to anywhere in Europe without the hassle of dragging luggage across cobblestones. The apartment sits in Vinohrady, which locals will tell you is where they’d actually choose to live. It’s got that perfect balance — close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square in about ten minutes, but far enough from the tourist crowds that you can grab coffee without fighting through selfie sticks.

The Space Itself

The room I stayed in felt more like a proper Prague flat than a hotel — and I mean that in the best way possible. There’s a fully equipped kitchen that actually works (I made coffee every morning and even attempted goulash one evening), and the living area has enough space to spread out your maps and plan your day. The décor walks that fine line between modern comfort and local character — think clean lines with touches of Bohemian warmth. What really impressed me was the attention to detail; they’ve thought about what travelers actually need, like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets for all your devices.

Neighborhood Discoveries

Walking around this area, you start to understand why couples rate the location so highly. There’s this lovely café called Café Savoy just a short tram ride away, and honestly, some of the best beer halls in the city are within walking distance. The nearby Riegrovy sady park becomes this amazing social hub in the evenings — locals bring their own drinks and just hang out on the grass watching the sunset over the city. You’re also perfectly positioned to explore both the historic center and the more contemporary parts of Prague without feeling like you’re constantly commuting.

Why Guests Love It

I think what makes this place work is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s not pretending to be a boutique hotel or a resort — it’s a well-designed, comfortable base for exploring Prague. The fact that it consistently gets high ratings tells you everything you need to know about the fundamentals: it’s clean, it’s reliable, and the location really is as good as they claim. For couples especially, having your own space with a proper kitchen means you can start your day slowly with coffee and pastries from the local bakery, then head out to explore without feeling rushed. There’s something to be said for a place that just gets the basics right and lets Prague itself be the star of the show.

Quirky apartment

The decor was really quirky and very well done. Facilities were good, fridge etc. Was a good location to explore Zizkov. Beds were comfy, good for a couple of nights stay.

What could be improved: Was difficult to get to initially from Prague centre, through the train station and out of the other side. Quite a long walk to the old town, 35 minutes. And the metro station (Florenc) is also a bit of a trek.

We are very grateful to God because our stay was comfortable and safe and the host/our contact was very accommodatin

The Facilities in the Apartment are complete.
In my opinion, these are the basic needs that the travellers really needed.

What could be improved: We are not sure if the coffee, creamer, etc. are free as complimentary drinks. 😁
