METRO Apartment Prague by Main Train and Bus Station Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked into METRO Apartment Prague by Main Train and Bus Station, I’ll be honest — the name doesn’t exactly scream romance or charm. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that surprise you. This four-star property sits right in the heart of Prague, and once you get past that utilitarian name, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something pretty special. The building has this understated elegance that feels authentically Czech — not trying too hard to impress tourists, but quietly confident in what it offers.

Location That Actually Matters

Here’s the thing about Prague — everyone talks about staying near the Old Town Square, but honestly, being close to the main train station is brilliant. You’re literally steps away from Hlavní nádraží, which means you can hop on a train to anywhere in Europe without the hassle of dragging luggage across cobblestones. The apartment sits in Vinohrady, which locals will tell you is where they’d actually choose to live. It’s got that perfect balance — close enough to walk to Wenceslas Square in about ten minutes, but far enough from the tourist crowds that you can grab coffee without fighting through selfie sticks.

The Space Itself

The room I stayed in felt more like a proper Prague flat than a hotel — and I mean that in the best way possible. There’s a fully equipped kitchen that actually works (I made coffee every morning and even attempted goulash one evening), and the living area has enough space to spread out your maps and plan your day. The décor walks that fine line between modern comfort and local character — think clean lines with touches of Bohemian warmth. What really impressed me was the attention to detail; they’ve thought about what travelers actually need, like proper lighting for reading and enough outlets for all your devices.

Neighborhood Discoveries

Walking around this area, you start to understand why couples rate the location so highly. There’s this lovely café called Café Savoy just a short tram ride away, and honestly, some of the best beer halls in the city are within walking distance. The nearby Riegrovy sady park becomes this amazing social hub in the evenings — locals bring their own drinks and just hang out on the grass watching the sunset over the city. You’re also perfectly positioned to explore both the historic center and the more contemporary parts of Prague without feeling like you’re constantly commuting.

Why Guests Love It

I think what makes this place work is that it doesn’t try to be something it’s not. It’s not pretending to be a boutique hotel or a resort — it’s a well-designed, comfortable base for exploring Prague. The fact that it consistently gets high ratings tells you everything you need to know about the fundamentals: it’s clean, it’s reliable, and the location really is as good as they claim. For couples especially, having your own space with a proper kitchen means you can start your day slowly with coffee and pastries from the local bakery, then head out to explore without feeling rushed. There’s something to be said for a place that just gets the basics right and lets Prague itself be the star of the show.

Reviews of METRO Apartment Prague by Main Train and Bus Station

  • Quirky apartment – Stephen from United Kingdom – 9 July 2025 (8/10)

The decor was really quirky and very well done. Facilities were good, fridge etc. Was a good location to explore Zizkov. Beds were comfy, good for a couple of nights stay.

What could be improved: Was difficult to get to initially from Prague centre, through the train station and out of the other side. Quite a long walk to the old town, 35 minutes. And the metro station (Florenc) is also a bit of a trek.

  • We are very grateful to God because our stay was comfortable and safe and the host/our contact was very accommodatin – Theresa from Germany – 18 March 2025 (8/10)

The Facilities in the Apartment are complete.
In my opinion, these are the basic needs that the travellers really needed.

What could be improved: We are not sure if the coffee, creamer, etc. are free as complimentary drinks. 😁

  • Very good – Roberto from Italy – 22 January 2025 (8/10)

    Very confy and clean apartment.
Easy to get any tram or bus to anywhere.
15 minutes walk from main train station.
Very nice and good place to stay

  • Superb – Chelsea from United Kingdom – 31 October 2023 (9/10)

Very good location. Was very cozy for me and my partner and we felt very comfortable during our stay. Had every facility you could need during your stay and is very convenient. Also has a luggage drop off box which we utilised on our last day as we had a late night flight.

What could be improved: The apartment seemed to still get damp despite the humidifier being on all day every day. We came back to damp bedding and clothes every night, not very ideal and wasn’t able to fix it.

  • Would go here again – Ivo from Germany – 4 October 2023 (9/10)

The location was nice and the apartment, even though small, is very well equipped. I enjoyed our stay here and will remember this place fondly.

What could be improved: The dehumidifier next to the bed was quite loud, I would have preferred if it was in the other corner of the room.

  • Very good – Alicia from United Kingdom – 11 September 2023 (8/10)

Was a really cool experience, beds were really comfy and the facilities such as the iron and washing machine were a really good touch!

What could be improved: It's a bit out of the way but uber is pretty cheap, the bathroom fan is a bit loud but if you close the door you can get used to it, and the room can get a bit hot but they do provide fans, which I found the stool in the room to be at perfect height to place it on ^-^

  • Metro Appartment – Merlin from United States – 30 May 2023 (9/10)

Cute appartment, with room for a couple. The decor was great, subway car theme. Clear instructions for entry, and the location was just over from the main train station. Has all the amenities, even instant coffee, sugar and creamer. There's a grocery store just down the street, on the way to the back passage to the train station. Worked perfectly! All was good. Very quiet and relaxing

What could be improved: Not a complaint, just a clarification.. The washer sits in the hall between the two appartments. The photo of it is in the hall.

  • Superb – Adrien from Germany – 18 April 2023 (9/10)

    Very cozy.

Situated right next to the main station, with shopping and food right around the corner, and yet very quiet.

  • Good week in Prague – Dmytriieska from Ukraine – 5 April 2023 (9/10)

The Metro Appartment is a stylish and a comfortable place to stay during your short visit to Prague. Despite the small size of the apartment it had a lot of functional furniture and cooking utensils as well as salt and oil you coud use to prepare homemade meals. Overall theuse of space was thougtfull. The hall, the room and the bathroom were tidy and neat, the bed was very comfortable. There were a lot of shops and infrastructure nearby, so the placement was really great.
The locker for the stuff that is available all day after checkout is a really smart idea, loved that.
It really seems that the owners care for the visitors in a very thoughtful way, that is great.

What could be improved: Unfortunately the wifi was not working the whole week. Owners tried to fix it, but it did not work. Hope the issue is dealt with now.

  • Very good – Soundgrifter from Finland – 2 February 2023 (8/10)

Ease of check in and quick response time of host
