My room faced the courtyard, so it was pretty quiet even though you’re still in the city. What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to actually know the area – when I asked about getting to Kampa Island without dealing with the crowds on Charles Bridge, the front desk guy gave me this route through Petřin Hill that was absolutely perfect. The whole place has this unpretentious vibe that I found refreshing after dealing with some of the stuffier hotels in Prague’s center where they act like they’re doing you a favor by taking your money. Sure, you won’t find a spa or a rooftop bar here, but sometimes you just want a place that does the basics really well – comfortable bed, reliable internet, helpful staff, and easy access to everything Prague has to offer without paying tourist-trap prices. That 8.9 rating makes perfect sense once you’ve stayed here.
