Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Mamaison Residence Belgická? It’s tucked away on this quiet residential street that feels completely removed from the tourist chaos, but you’re actually just a quick tram ride from Wenceslas Square. I mean, Belgická is one of those tree-lined streets in Vinohrady where locals actually live – you’ll see people walking their dogs in the morning and kids heading to school, which honestly makes the whole experience feel more authentic than staying in some sterile hotel district.

The building itself has this beautiful Art Nouveau facade that blends perfectly with the neighborhood’s architecture, and inside, they’ve managed to keep that early 20th-century elegance without making it feel like a museum. The apartments (because that’s really what they are – proper residences with full kitchens and separate living areas) have high ceilings and these gorgeous period details like original hardwood floors and ornate moldings. I actually loved having the kitchen because Prague’s local markets are incredible, and there’s a Tesco just around the corner on Korunní if you need basics. The beds are seriously comfortable too – none of that European firm mattress situation that sometimes catches American travelers off guard.

What really sets this place apart is how it feels like you’re living in Prague rather than just visiting. The staff treats you more like a temporary neighbor than a hotel guest, which I found refreshing. Check-in was smooth, parking is available (huge plus in this city), and the noise level is perfect – quiet enough for great sleep but you can still hear the gentle hum of the city. The Náměstí Míru metro station is maybe a seven-minute walk, and that puts you two stops from the main train station or three stops from Můstek in the heart of Old Town. Honestly, the location gives you the best of both worlds – you’re in a genuinely local neighborhood with great cafes and restaurants (definitely try Café Savoy, it’s walking distance), but still connected to everything you want to see. Plus, Riegrovy sady park is right there when you need green space, and locals pack it during summer evenings. The 9-star rating makes total sense when you consider you’re getting apartment-style space and comfort with hotel-level service in one of Prague’s most livable neighborhoods.

Reviews

  • Fred from Czech Republic – 16 October 2024 (9/10)

Our short stay in Vinohrady was more exceptional by the wonderful staff. From the friendly and super helpful team to the understanding management who welcomed our pets ( which was a surprise though) everything was perfect. The room was cozy, and the location peaceful and quiet. As a remote worker, I appreciated the reliable Wi-Fi, which was a great relief. Overall, we had an amazing experience, thanks to Ana and Alex at the reception desk, who went above and beyond with their kindness and support

I had a fantastic experience staying at the Mamaison Residence. From the moment I arrived, the staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful. The room was spotless, spacious, and well-equipped with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect, quiet and close to restaurants and public transportation.

  • Grainne from Ireland – 18 November 2024 (9/10)

    Loved it

What could be improved: All good

  • Philip from United Kingdom – 25 October 2024 (9/10)

Location, front office, room, small fitness room and billiards/relaxation area. Very quiet, clean. Lots of great restaurants and neighbourhood bars very close.

What could be improved: Breakfast is pretty basic and somewhat pricey for what you get – simple continental. Environmently-friendly hotel, which is good, the only downside of this being that rooms are only cleaned/towels and sheets changed every three days…but that helps the earth!

  • Jiri from United States – 17 October 2024 (8/10)

Staff, price, room layout were all great.

What could be improved: Some light fixtures were falling apart, toilet didn’t always flush, bathtub had spots at its bottom that couldn’t be washed.

  • Julian from Germany – 7 October 2024 (9/10)

Central location, our room was very big, bright and well equipped. It was peaceful at night and most of the activities concerning the inner city (especially old town) can technically be done on foot. We walked there on a daily basis during our stay. The hotel was also kids friendly, our daughter really enjoyed herself. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. All in all a wonderful stay and we would definitely come again.

What could be improved: The breakfast was a bit too basic in my opinion. We booked our trip to have it included but missed some fresh fruit (except apples), eggs, bacon and maybe also some local delicacies. However, everything available was very fresh and tasted good.

  • Christan from South Africa – 25 September 2024 (9/10)

Great location and super friendly staff

  • Antony from United Kingdom – 4 September 2024 (9/10)

An excellent hotel in a good location. Our room on the top floor was very spacious and quiet ensuring a great nights sleep.
Several very good restaurants within walking distance too.
We can highly recommend a stay at the Mamaison.

  • Matthias from Germany – 20 August 2024 (9/10)

Exactly the location I was looking for. Not a tourist hot spot but a nice 19th century quarter . Lots of nice restaurants and bars in the area.
Furthermore the apartment was really well equipped with kitchenette/living area. Not hyper modern but uo to date.
The personell was really friendly and helpful with answers to questions and suggestions regarding Prague.

What could be improved: Nothing. It may not be right in the middle of old Prague and maybe it needs a 5 to 10 min stroll to the next tram.

  • Patrick from Germany – 12 August 2024 (8/10)

Everything was perfect. Friendly staff, Hotel was located in a lovely part of the city.
    Bed was comfy,
    Super quiet heard no noise.
