Overview

First Impressions

When I first walked up to Main train station apartment close to the the Main Square!, I’ll be honest — the name pretty much tells you everything you need to know about why this place works so well. It’s one of those four-star properties that doesn’t try to be fancy, but absolutely nails the fundamentals. The building sits right on Opletalova street, and you can literally hear the hum of Praha Hlavní nádraží (the main train station) just around the corner — which sounds annoying but is actually brilliant when you’re hauling luggage.

Location Magic

Here’s what I love about this spot in Prague — you’re basically in the sweet spot between tourist central and real city life. The main square (Wenceslas Square, though locals just call it Václavák) is maybe a three-minute walk, but you’re far enough away that you won’t be dealing with street performers at midnight. I mean, you can grab breakfast, walk to the Old Town Square, see the astronomical clock, and be back for an afternoon nap without breaking a sweat. The metro entrance is right there too, so getting to Prague Castle or anywhere else is ridiculously easy.

The Space Itself

The apartment setup here is what really sets it apart from typical hotel rooms. You get a proper living area that doesn’t feel cramped, and honestly, after spending days walking on cobblestones, having space to spread out makes all the difference. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you need if you want to grab some Czech bread and cheese from the market instead of eating out every meal. The room itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel — which couples seem to really appreciate, based on what I’ve seen.

Practical Perks

What actually surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re basically in the city center. The windows do a decent job blocking out street noise, and there’s something oddly comforting about hearing the occasional tram rumble by. The building has that classic Prague architecture thing going on — high ceilings, solid walls, the kind of place that’s been around forever and will probably outlast us all. Parking can be tricky in this area (like most of central Prague), but honestly, you won’t need a car anyway.

Why Guests Love It

You know what really works about this place? It’s that perfect balance of being right in the action without feeling touristy. I’ve stayed in fancier places in Prague that felt sterile, and I’ve stayed in cheaper spots that were too far from everything interesting. This hits that sweet spot where you can stumble back from a late dinner in the Old Town, but also grab an early train to Vienna or Budapest without the stress of crossing the city with your bags. The fact that couples rate it so highly makes sense — there’s something romantic about having your own little Prague apartment, even if it’s just for a few nights.

Very good value, good quality.

The building was very elegant, in a great location near the railway station, opposite a small police station (felt safe) and near the old town. Very private and quiet. Great value for first visit to Prague.

What could be improved: Mezzanine steps a little intimidating, but no mishaps.

Great location and place for solo travelers—it has all you could need for your stay.

The location was great. The station was super close but you could also walk to Old Town very easily. Lots to do around there. The bed was super comfy and the place was very clean. Towels were provided and so were two comforters. The sofa also came out into a sofa bed and the place could easily fit four. Check-in was super easy and the place felt very safe for a solo traveler.

What could be improved: The only thing that confused me was the light. It would go out sometimes and I couldn't get the overhead/main light to always stay on, but it didn't bother me because there was plenty of other lighting.
