Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name actually undersells it. I mean, “Magnificent Apartment” sounds like something a real estate agent dreamed up after too much coffee, but honestly – once you’re inside, you get why they went a bit overboard with the description.

The location on Řeznická is pretty solid if you know Prague at all. You’re right in the heart of the Old Town, which means you can stumble to most of the major sights without needing the tram system (though honestly, Prague’s trams are half the fun). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – Řeznická isn’t one of those tourist-trap streets where you’ll hear drunk bachelor parties at 2 AM. The building itself has that classic Prague charm, you know, the kind with thick walls that actually keep sound out, unlike some of those converted hostels nearby. Check-in was straightforward, though the entrance is a bit tricky to spot if you’re dragging luggage – look for the smaller door numbers, not the obvious storefront.

The sauna situation is where things get interesting. It’s not huge – I mean, we’re talking apartment-sized here, not hotel spa – but it’s legit and actually gets properly hot. Perfect after spending a day walking on all those cobblestones (your feet will thank you). The billiards table is tucked into what feels like it used to be a dining room, and while you won’t mistake it for a proper pub setup, it’s solid enough for some late-night games. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, which I actually prefer – there are books on the shelves, decent coffee in the kitchen, that sort of thing. The beds are comfortable, though the pillows lean toward the firmer side if that matters to you.

What really works about staying here is the flexibility. You can cook your own breakfast (there’s a proper grocery store about three blocks away), or walk five minutes to that little bakery on Celetná that locals actually use. The WiFi holds up well even when everyone’s streaming, and there’s enough space that you’re not constantly bumping into each other if you’re traveling with friends. Parking is… well, it’s Prague’s Old Town, so forget about street parking, but there’s a garage about a ten-minute walk away that won’t completely destroy your budget. The 7-star rating feels about right – it’s not luxury, but it’s well-maintained and has personality. You’re paying for the location and those nice touches like the sauna, not for marble bathrooms or room service. If you’re the type who wants to experience Prague like you’re actually living there for a few days rather than just passing through, this setup makes a lot of sense.
