Honestly, when I first walked up to this place on Michalská Street, I wasn’t sure what to expect – the entrance is pretty understated, tucked between some typical Old Town storefronts. But once you get inside, wow. This apartment actually delivers on that “luxury” promise, which, let’s be real, doesn’t always happen in Prague’s tourist zone.

The location is what really gets me though. You’re literally in the heart of everything – I mean, you can walk to Wenceslas Square in about eight minutes, and the Astronomical Clock is practically around the corner. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: Michalská is just off the main drag, so you get all the benefits of being central without the constant stream of tour groups marching past your windows at 7 AM. The street itself has this lovely mix of locals heading to work and tourists who’ve done their homework. There’s actually a fantastic little wine bar called Bokovka just down the street that most visitors never find – perfect for a nightcap after dealing with the crowds at Old Town Square.

What surprised me most was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re in the absolute center of things. The AC is a godsend during summer months (Prague can get surprisingly muggy in July and August), and having two proper bedrooms means you’re not cramped like you would be in most hotel rooms at this price point. The kitchen is well-equipped too – I ended up cooking breakfast a couple times using ingredients from the Tesco on Národní Street, which is about a ten-minute walk. You know what I really appreciated? The washing machine. Sounds boring, but when you’re traveling for more than a few days, it’s those practical touches that make all the difference.

The building itself has that classic Prague charm – high ceilings, original details – but updated with modern fixtures that actually work properly. I’ve stayed in too many “historic” places where the shower barely functions or the wifi cuts out every hour. Not an issue here. The 9.4 rating makes sense once you experience it yourself. Check-in was smooth (they send you detailed instructions beforehand, which I always prefer to hunting down a front desk), and the host was responsive when I had a question about the heating system.

One small heads up – parking can be tricky if you’re driving. The Old Town has restrictions, so you’ll probably want to use one of the paid lots nearby. But honestly, you won’t need a car anyway. Everything worth seeing is walkable, and the tram connections are excellent if you want to venture out to Vinohrady or across the river to Lesser Town. I spent most evenings just wandering the narrow streets around the apartment, discovering little pubs and shops that don’t make it into guidebooks. That’s the real advantage of staying somewhere like this – you feel less like a tourist passing through and more like someone who actually knows the neighborhood.

  What could be improved: We were under the impression that there were two complete bathrooms and was a big reason we chose this property. The second bathroom is a toilet and sink. In reality it should be marketed as a 1.5 bathroom property. In the end everything worked out but we were surprised at first.

  Fantastic location and very clean. Host was very accommodating, giving us early check in and late check out. Bedding was very comfy with soft pillows. Apartment was very spacious and elegant. Very quiet in the apartment despite the lively street below it. Elevator was useful to get to the apartment due to the apartment being on the top floor. Would definitely come again!
  
  What could be improved: AC in the master bedroom was not very effective and was hard to adjust. The dishwasher did not work so it was very hard to clean dishes. No instructions either about how to work the appliances.
