Luxury apartment in the center

Prague, Czech Republic
4 Dlážděná 33; 3. floor, Prague, 110 00, Czech Republic

Overview

You know what caught me off guard about this place? The moment you climb up to the third floor on Dlážděná Street, you’re suddenly in this incredibly polished apartment that feels nothing like the historic building you just walked through. I mean, the exterior has that classic Prague charm – all weathered stone and old-world character – but inside, it’s honestly one of the most thoughtfully designed spaces I’ve encountered in the city center.

The location is pretty much perfect if you actually want to experience Prague rather than just tourist-trap your way through it. Dlážděná is this quiet cobblestone street that most visitors walk right past, but you’re literally a three-minute stroll from Old Town Square. I could hear the astronomical clock chiming every hour (which was charming during the day, though I’m glad the windows are well-insulated for sleeping). What’s really great is that you can duck into Lokál or U Fleků for proper Czech beer without dealing with the crowds on Wenceslas Square – locals actually eat at these spots, which tells you something. The nearest tram stop is maybe 200 meters away, and honestly, you can walk to Charles Bridge in about eight minutes if you know the side streets.

The apartment itself feels like someone who actually lives in Prague designed it, not some corporate hospitality group. The kitchen has everything you’d need – I ended up cooking breakfast most mornings using ingredients from the little market around the corner (way better than hotel breakfast, and you save money). The bathroom is surprisingly spacious for a historic building, and the shower pressure is excellent – apparently not a given in older Prague buildings. One small thing that impressed me was the attention to details like having enough outlets near the bed for charging devices and actual blackout curtains that work. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout, which mattered since I was working remotely for part of my stay. Storage space is generous too – I mean, you’re not living out of a suitcase like in most hotel rooms. The whole place just feels lived-in and comfortable rather than sterile and corporate. Check-in was smooth (they actually met me at the building, which I appreciated since finding the right entrance can be tricky), and they left a bottle of local wine and some practical info about the neighborhood. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying in for the evening sometimes, just because it’s so comfortable, rather than feeling like you need to escape a cramped hotel room.

Visitors often choose Prague apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Bohemian capital.

Bright, modern and clean apartment, excellent location within walking distance of everything in the centre of town. Safe and warm, very well equipped. Clear communication with the owner.

What could be improved: No curtains or blinds on windows apart from the bedroom. Not a huge issue, but just to be aware.
