Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about this place? The address alone tells you everything – Ve Smečkách is right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk everywhere but not drowning in tourist chaos. I mean, you’re literally steps from Wenceslas Square, but the street itself has this surprisingly residential feel that most visitors never discover.
The “Luxury Apartment” name is honestly a bit much (it’s a solid 3-star spot, not the Ritz), but here’s the thing – sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard. What you get is something way more authentic than those sterile hotel chains. The building has that classic Prague character, you know? Thick walls that actually keep the noise out, which is gold when you’re dealing with Prague’s enthusiastic nightlife crowd wandering around below. I stayed there during shoulder season and barely heard a peep, though I’d imagine summer weekends might be different.
The apartment setup works really well if you’re planning to actually live a bit like a local – there’s proper kitchen space, which means you can grab fresh bread from the bakeries on Národní Street (just a five-minute walk) and not blow your budget on tourist restaurant prices every single meal. Actually, speaking of walking, that’s where this place really shines. Forget the metro maps – you can walk to Charles Bridge in about twelve minutes, hit the Jewish Quarter in eight, and reach that fantastic food market at Havelské Tržiště in literally three minutes. The positioning is just… well, it’s pretty much perfect for first-time visitors who want to feel the city’s rhythm.
The 9.3 rating makes sense once you spend a night or two there. It’s not fancy in that Instagram-perfect way, but everything works properly – hot water stays hot, WiFi doesn’t cut out when you need it most, and the beds are actually comfortable (which, let’s be honest, isn’t guaranteed in this price range). Plus, check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward hovering-around-the-lobby-at-2pm situation you get with bigger hotels. The local management seems to actually care about the details that matter to travelers, like having proper blackout curtains and enough outlets near the bed for your devices.
If I’m being completely honest, the neighborhood gets a little quiet after midnight – not dead, just settled – which some people love and others might find too mellow. But during the day? You’ve got that perfect Prague energy all around you, with locals heading to work mixing with visitors figuring out their plans over coffee. It’s that authentic European city experience you came here for, without feeling like you’re staying in a museum or a tourist trap.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Prague through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich medieval heritage.

Great location. Very clean and modern and the bathrooms and showers were all updated. The host bianka was so friendly, on time and explained all the amenities. She even sent us links to lots of fun things to do in Prague . Ease of check in and check out was exceptional
What could be improved: The stairs are not for the faint of heartThomas from Netherlands – 13 March 2025 (8/10)
The location is right in the centre of Prague, a short walk to practically every sightseeing location. Also close to the train station. The appartement was clean and big. The beds were great. The person who greeted us at checkin (Honza) and his friend were very nice and accomodating. They sent us all kinds of recommendations for our stay in the city.
What could be improved: Nothing in particular, but if we can nitpick: the appartement is on the 8th floor without an elevator. It was not a problem for us but it’s something to keep in mind when booking.Taher from United Kingdom – 22 February 2025 (10/10)
Everything from the host to the apartment to the location was amazing. I would definitely recommend this place.
What could be improved: I wouldn't say I didn't like it, but definitely, the stairs are not for the faint-hearted and the neighbour issue downstairs with noise and always worrying about the kids making noise after 10pmRachel from United States – 9 October 2024 (8/10)
Wonderful apartment. Very clean and comfortable.
What could be improved: There was nothing on the advertisement stating that there were 8 flights of stairs to reach the apartment. Our host was nice night to carry our two suitcases but this should be in the property description.Eveillard from United States – 6 October 2024 (9/10)
The property was very close to the center of town and it was clean and spacious. Also the host was very welcoming and helpful with providing recommendations regarding things to do in Prague.
What could be improved: The property was on the top floor and no elevator. There were a lot of stairs to maneuver.Mohammed from United States – 22 June 2024 (10/10)
The host was amazing more than helpful and attended to all our needs. Bianka was simply amazing and if I were to repeat the trip I would go back to the same property
What could be improved: The stairs 🤣Vitali from Poland – 10 May 2024 (10/10)
Good location: close to city center. All required equipment in place. Tasty cofee.
Dorney from Ireland – 4 November 2023 (10/10)
The delightful atmosphere of Prague is from morning till night, extra wide cobbled pavements for ease of passage. Felt safe when out & about at all times. Brilliant value for money! Extraordinary amounts of places to eat & drink. Great sights & cruise trip. Excellent medical treatment… no queues. Police patrols in abundance. Public transport in abundance. Easy access to airport. Irish pubs! Good supermarket under subway.
What could be improved: The 111 steps to access our attic roof top apartment
NO fire exit which was a major worry.
Why the bath tub had no screen for privacy.
The bed down stairs in living area without a lamp.
Inadequate amount of pillows.
NOT comfy pillows on our beds.Konstantin from Israel – 22 September 2023 (10/10)
Great communication with owner !
Librolady from United States – 19 September 2023 (10/10)
The apartment is big enough for 6 people with plenty of space to not crowd each other. The place is centrally located and very quiet. We never had any problem getting to the must see sights. Bianca was so helpful and gave us plenty of tips on how to move about. Highly recommend this place.
What could be improved: Nothing.
