Hotel Description
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw “LOVELY Prague Apartment” in all caps, I sort of rolled my eyes. But you know what? Sometimes the cheesy names are actually spot-on, and this little gem on Hartigova street really surprised me.
The thing about this place is the location – it’s in Smíchov, which honestly most tourists completely skip over, but locals know it’s where you want to be if you’re not into fighting crowds on Charles Bridge every time you step outside. Hartigova itself is this quiet residential street that feels properly Czech, with those beautiful Art Nouveau buildings and old ladies walking their tiny dogs at precisely 7 AM every morning. The apartment’s on the third floor (and yeah, that means climbing some stairs – no elevator here), but once you’re up there in flat 10, you get these lovely views over the neighborhood rooftops. There’s something really satisfying about watching the city wake up from up there with your morning coffee.
What I actually loved most was how the place manages to feel both cozy and spacious at the same time. The owners clearly put thought into the details – proper blackout curtains (trust me, Prague summer mornings are bright), a kitchen that’s actually equipped for real cooking, not just reheating leftovers, and honestly some of the most comfortable beds I’ve slept in during three weeks bouncing around Central Europe. The whole place has this warm, lived-in feeling that you just don’t get in sterile hotel rooms. I mean, there are actual books on the shelves and decent coffee in the cupboard – little touches that make you feel like you’re staying at a friend’s place rather than just passing through.
Getting around is dead easy too – there’s a tram stop literally two minutes away that connects you to the city center, and if you’re feeling ambitious, it’s maybe a 20-minute walk to Prague Castle through some really lovely neighborhoods. Plus, and this is key, you’re close enough to all the good stuff but far enough away that you’re not dealing with hen parties stumbling past your window at 3 AM. The area has this perfect mix of local pubs where you can actually have a conversation and small shops where the owners remember your face after a couple days. There’s this fantastic little bakery around the corner on Plzeňská that does these incredible koláče – definitely worth the early morning walk.
The 8.7 rating makes total sense to me. It’s not luxury, but it’s exactly what you want when you’re exploring a city like Prague – comfortable, authentic, and positioned so you can live like a local for a few days instead of just checking tourist boxes. The three-star rating actually undersells it, I think. Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t try too hard to impress you upfront but just quietly deliver on everything that actually matters.

Our stay was great. Josef greeted us and provided instructions about the apartment. He also suggested nearby attractions, great touch!
The room was located on the 2nd Floor, thankfully there was a lift and only had to climb 1 flight of stairs to reach the front door. Apartment was clean and well maintained. All amenities provided.
Location was excellent. Lots of local shops nearby. Transportation was accesible and easy to navigate.
Bus stop was a short walking distance, and the travel time takes around 8-10 to city centre.
What could be improved: The road in front of the apartment was under construction- good thing no major disturbances noted.
Sleep was adequate- could provide at least more pillows and black out curtains as it was too bright in the morning and early evening.
Airconditioning (portable) was provided- truly a life saver as it was warm during our entire stay.Exceptional – Denis from Poland – 10 June 2024 (10/10)
