Loreta Hotel

Prague, Czech Republic
Loretánské nám.8, Prague, 118 00, Czech Republic

Overview

You know what? I walked past the Loreta Hotel probably fifty times before I actually noticed it tucked into that little corner of Loretánské náměstí. It’s honestly one of those places that feels like a well-kept secret, even though it’s sitting right there next to one of Prague’s most stunning baroque complexes. The building itself has this understated charm – none of the flashy signage you see around Wenceslas Square, just a quiet confidence that comes from being in the right spot.

What really gets me about this place is how it manages to feel both intimate and substantial at the same time. The 9.3 rating isn’t some fluke – I mean, you’re literally steps away from the Loreta sanctuary, and I’m talking like thirty seconds of walking. Most tourists are so focused on getting to the castle that they completely miss this little pocket of Hradčany, which honestly works in your favor because mornings here are incredibly peaceful. You can actually hear the bells from the Loreta tower, and there’s something pretty magical about that when you’re having your coffee. The staff clearly knows the neighborhood inside and out – they’ll point you toward the back streets that connect to Pohořelec if you want to avoid the castle crowds, or steer you to that little wine bar on Úvoz that doesn’t show up in guidebooks.

The three-star rating is sort of perfect because it sets realistic expectations, but then the place quietly exceeds them in ways that matter. The rooms aren’t trying to be fancy, but they’re thoughtfully done with good beds and proper blackout curtains (crucial if you’re jet-lagged). Parking is actually manageable in this area – there’s usually space on the streets around Loretánská, though you’ll want to check the signs because some spots are resident-only. What I really appreciate is how the hotel sits in this residential part of Hradčany, so evenings are genuinely quiet once the day-trippers head back down the hill. You’re close enough to walk to all the major sights, but far enough from the tourist chaos to actually get some rest. It’s the kind of place where you start to feel like you’re staying in Prague rather than just visiting it.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Prague through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich medieval heritage.

-Absolutely outstanding service! Everyone was so nice and helpful
-Perfect breakfast in wonderful atmosphere
-The location! Quick to get to the city centre on foot or by tram, but also very quiet at night
-I loved the beds! Never had a better sleep in a hotel. Great mattress and a selection of pillows, that I'm tempted to ask for where they buy them

What could be improved: It would be nice to have electrical outlets next to the bed, but that's all

Perfect location. Quirky characterful building. Quiet whilst being so accessible. Beautiful bedroom ceiling.

What could be improved: Replenishing bottled water daily would have been nice.
