Krakovka Residence Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to Krakovka Residence – the entrance is pretty understated on this quiet side street. But you know what? Sometimes the best places are the ones that don’t need to shout about it. This 4-star spot sits right on Krakovska street, which puts you maybe a 7-minute walk from Wenceslas Square, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos at all hours.
The thing that really got me about this place is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between feeling boutique-y and actually being practical. The rooms have this sort of modern-meets-classic Prague vibe – you’ve got high ceilings (which, let’s be real, most Prague hotels skimp on), but they’ve updated everything else so it actually works. The Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, the shower has proper water pressure, and – this might sound silly – but the beds are actually long enough if you’re over six feet tall. I mean, you’d be surprised how many places in the city center still have these tiny European beds from like 1995.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. Krakovska isn’t one of those streets where you’ve got people stumbling back from the beer halls at 2 AM, but you’re still close enough to walk to the good stuff. If you head toward IP Pavlova metro station (it’s literally around the corner), you can get anywhere in the city in like 15 minutes. Or honestly, just walk – the National Museum is right there, and if you cut through the side streets toward Vinohrady, you’ll hit some of the best local restaurants that most tourists never find.
The staff actually knows Prague, which sounds basic but isn’t always a given. When I asked about where to get proper goulash that wasn’t a tourist trap, the guy at reception didn’t just hand me a generic list – he told me about this place called Lokál near Národní street and even drew me a little map showing the back way to get there. That’s the kind of detail that makes a difference when you’re trying to experience the city like someone who actually lives here.
I’ll be straight with you though – if you’re looking for a rooftop pool or some massive lobby bar scene, this isn’t that kind of place. It’s more about getting the fundamentals really right. Clean, comfortable, well-located, and run by people who seem to care about what they’re doing. The breakfast is solid (proper Czech pastries, not just generic hotel croissants), and they’ve got this little courtyard area that’s perfect for coffee in the morning when the weather’s decent.
The rating of 9 out of 10 makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Prague, but for what it is, they’ve pretty much nailed it. Especially if you want to feel like you’re staying in a real neighborhood instead of just another hotel district.

Excellent!!!
Completely new apartment fully equiped. Everything needed for my short stay was there, including Nespresso coffee machine with complimentary capsules provided, amazing view from big windows on Prague rooftops in such busy but very very quiet location. There was no noise at all.
I was there overnight but will come back soon again for longer period – thats for sure!! Everything brand new!!
And not to forget – not even 200m from Wenceslas square makes its location as TOP central!!!Jaroslav from Czech Republic – 27 March 2025 (10/10)
