You know what? I walked past the Koruna Hotel probably a dozen times before I actually noticed it tucked there on Opatovická Street. It’s one of those places that doesn’t scream for attention, which honestly turned out to be part of its charm. The building has this understated Prague elegance – nothing flashy, but solid in that way old European hotels are when they’ve been quietly doing their thing for years.

The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Prague at all. You’re literally a three-minute walk from Národní Street, which means you can stumble to some of the city’s best pubs and restaurants without dealing with the tourist circus around Old Town Square. I mean, you’re close enough to all that stuff when you want it, but Opatovická feels more like where actual Praguers might hang out. There’s a great little kavárna around the corner that serves proper Czech coffee – none of that Starbucks nonsense – and the street itself is quiet enough that you won’t have drunk bachelor parties stumbling past your window at 3 AM (trust me, this matters more than you think in Prague).

Inside, it’s exactly what you’d expect from a solid three-star place, but with some nice touches that suggest someone actually cares about the details. The rooms aren’t huge – this is central Prague, after all – but they’re thoughtfully laid out, and honestly, when you’re spending your days wandering through Prague Castle and the Lesser Town, you just need somewhere clean and comfortable to crash. The 7.9 rating makes perfect sense to me; it’s not trying to be the Four Seasons, but it delivers on what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, too, which is rarer than you’d think. When I asked about getting to Vinohrady for dinner one night, the guy at the desk didn’t just point me toward the metro – he told me which tram would be more interesting and mentioned a wine bar I should check out along the way. That kind of local insight is worth way more than marble bathrooms or whatever. The whole place has this relaxed, unpretentious vibe that feels very Prague to me – sophisticated without being stuffy, comfortable without being fancy. If you’re the type who wants to feel like you’re staying somewhere that knows its place in the city rather than trying to separate you from it, Koruna gets that balance right.

  The hotel’s location is very good.
  It is possible to walk to almost anywhere in the city.
  There is a small elevator, which is very helpful especially on the first day when you arrive with your hands full of luggage.
  The room was clean and tidy.
  Everything needed to make tea, including a kettle, was available.
  There were enough power outlets.
  
  What could be improved: Although we requested to have a refrigerator installed in the room, they said they would do it but never did. Moreover, after that, they did not respond to us with any explanation.
  After 8 p.m., there was no staff present at the hotel.
  The key to the outer door was given to guests so that they could open and close it themselves and monitor entry and exit.

  Location is fantastic and the hotel looks like it's had a lot of renovation work done quite recently. For a cheap one night stay right in the centre of the city this place is fantastic. And the couple of staff members we spoke to were extremely helpful and accommodating.

  Great value for money.
  Lovely location with lots of restaurants, cafes, and bars in the area.

  What could be improved: Waiting for check in for a long. I informed hotel that i arrive at hotel early and asked early check in. But waited for 6 hours. One staff said that there iş available room but needs cleaning, houskeepers wasn't there. Other staff said there iş no available room. I tolh her bother staff's word. The she said at 8 houskeepers'll start cleaning. At 8 housekeepers came. After 50 minutes playing with telephones they started cleaning and finally at 11 finished.

  The staff were really professional and friendly. They helped us with everything. The room was very tidy and clean and it smelled really good.
  
  What could be improved: I wouldn’t call it a dislike but the location was a bit far from the main station (like 20-25 minutes walk). However, it is close to the other main touristic sights and locations.
