The rooms – well, they’re what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place, but there’s something about the way they’ve kept some of the original architectural details that makes it feel less cookie-cutter than most chains. The staff actually knows the neighborhood, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how rare that is. When I asked about finding a decent non-touristy dinner spot, the guy at the front desk didn’t just hand me a generic list – he walked me to the window and pointed toward Vinohrady, explaining which tram to catch and why the locals eat there instead of the overpriced places near the Astronomical Clock.

What really sold me on this place (and why that 8.6 rating makes total sense) is how it handles the practical stuff without making a big deal about it. The WiFi actually works throughout the building – I know, revolutionary concept – and the breakfast setup flows smoothly even when it’s packed with business travelers and families. There’s this nice buzz in the morning without feeling chaotic. The neighborhood gets lively in the evenings since you’re close to some great bars and that whole Karlín district scene, but honestly the rooms are quiet enough that street noise wasn’t an issue for me. I stayed there in late spring when Prague gets pretty busy, and while you’ll definitely want to book dinner reservations ahead of time at the better local spots, the hotel itself never felt overwhelmed or understaffed. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax between exploring Prague’s cobblestone streets and endless castles, which – let’s be honest – is exactly what you need after a full day of playing tourist in one of Europe’s most beautiful cities.
