Karmelitska 1 luxury 1 bedroom Overview

Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of Prague apartments over the years, and honestly? Most of the time you’re either dealing with cramped communist-era blocks or overpriced tourist traps near Old Town Square. But Karmelitska 1 is different – it’s tucked on this quiet cobblestone street in Lesser Town that most visitors walk right past on their way to Prague Castle. You know that feeling when you find a place that’s clearly meant for people who actually live in a city, not just Instagram it? That’s what this is.

The apartment itself feels like someone’s actual home, which I mean, it probably was at some point. The building dates back centuries (everything in this neighborhood does), but inside it’s been done up with this understated luxury that doesn’t scream “rental property.” The bedroom’s got these heavy curtains that actually block out the morning light – thank god, because Prague Castle bells start ringing early and you’ll want every minute of sleep you can get after exploring the city. What really struck me was the attention to small stuff… the coffee machine actually works well, there are proper wine glasses, and the shower has decent water pressure, which honestly can be hit or miss in these old buildings.

Here’s the thing about this location that the booking sites don’t really capture – you’re literally a two-minute walk from Kampa Island, which is where locals go to escape tourists, and about five minutes from that little cluster of pubs on Nerudova Street where you can actually get a decent meal without paying Old Town prices. The tram stop at Malostranské náměstí is close enough that you can easily get anywhere in the city, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant noise. I stayed there in late September and it was perfectly quiet at night, just the occasional clip-clop of horse carriages heading back from evening castle tours. The building’s entrance is easy to miss – there’s no big sign or anything – which actually adds to the whole “local secret” vibe. Parking’s tricky like everywhere in this part of Prague, but honestly, you don’t need a car here anyway. What you get instead is this sense of staying somewhere that feels authentically Prague, not like a hotel room that could be anywhere. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be fancy, it’s just really, really well done.

Visitors often choose Prague apartments over traditional hotels because they provide more space, kitchen facilities, and the opportunity to live like a local in this magnificent Bohemian capital.

Reviews of Karmelitska 1 luxury 1 bedroom

  • Exceptional – Manuel from Spain – 24 July 2025 (10/10)

Muy céntrico, cómodo, nada ruidoso, muchas facilidades para desplazamientos.
    Muy recomendable para familias.

  • Very good – Monika from Czech Republic – 10 June 2025 (8/10)

Velmi se mi líbila lokalita a cena. Ubytování bylo čisté a dostačující. Byl i fén, ručníky a vybavení kuchyně bylo také dostačující pro naše účely.

What could be improved: Vybavení nebylo nijak moderní, ale účel splnilo. Jediné co nám vadilo byl hluk, kdy jsme si skoro nebyli jistí, jestli není někdo u nás na ubytování.
